Markin Glen County Park, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend and were lucky to get in as it was full Friday and Saturday. Despite being packed with kids and dogs the campground had a quiet feel to it. The campground and day use area are laid out superbly to allow for everyone to spread out and not run into each other. I never saw anyone with a fish but that didn't stop the steady stream of families trying their hand at fishing the ponds, which offered lots of room off bridges and on the shore for all who were interested. It will be great when the trees in the campground are big enough to provide shade but the sites themselves are some of the best you'll find. We camped at Markin Glen County Park in a Motorhome.

Hill Top Campground, Lapeer, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight for a wedding nearby. The shower building in the main campground area looked worse on the outside than it actually was. The bathroom facilities down at the camp store were better maintained in all respects. Our site was not very level and overall the sites looked to be luck of the draw. Some had no grass whatsoever. Had we been there under different circumstances it would have been fun to rent a boat to spend some time on the lake. The 'beach area' was quite small. We camped at Hill Top Campground in a Motorhome.
