George Mitchell Park, Oxford, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

City Campground in a city park. 8 spots on the grass. Disc golf adjacent. Best part is it is free for the first night and $8 per night after that. But you will probably only be here the one night as there isn't much to do it seems. The folks at the grocery store were nice. Air card coverage and cell coverage were fine. We camped at George Mitchell Park in a Motorhome.

Chautauqua Park, Beatrice, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice city campground. The other reviewers have it right. At the other end of the bike/walking path, (about 3 miles) and on the west side of town in Riverdale park, it looks like they will have another 8 sites. They look like they are all ready to go except for getting some grass growing. I would expect they will probably be open next spring/summer. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

South Park Campground, Franklin, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

A small city campground next to a small playground area. Neat and tidy. No one else here. Probably could get a 40 foot motorhome in here, but it would probably be almost sticking out in the driveway. We camped at South Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake of Three Fires State Park, Bedford, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Great little State Park. Swimming beach. Disc golf. Hiking. Restrooms newer and clean. The non-electric sites, with a few exceptions, are very much "tent only" though save maybe for a fold up tent camper. We camped at Lake of Three Fires State Park in a Motorhome.

Prairie Ridge COE, Moravia, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Great Corps of Engineers park. Fairly typical services for a COE park. No water available in the "A" campground but spigots around in "B". Rate is the "Senior" rate. Very pleasant and very quiet. We camped at Prairie Ridge COE in a Motorhome.

Duck Haven Campground, Fort Madison, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Very pleasant. Nothing fancy, but a good price. A bit of train noise. The gravel road is no biggie, just maybe a half mile. No serious washboard on the road. Great fishing in the pond. Caught 6 or so 12" bass in about 30 minutes. Some construction workers staying here in early September. Apparently being foreclosed though with an auction within a couple months. We camped at Duck Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Millpoint RV Park, Peoria, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty much agree with some of the others. A very pleasant owner and responsive. A quiet place it seemed, even on Labor Day. Get the key or have the shower opened if you need it. I bet it does get wet in big rains or early spring. Very mature park but pleasant. The rate is Passport America. They charge an extra $3 for electric (for a 30 amp class C). We camped at Millpoint RV Park in a Motorhome.
