Date of Stay:
October, 2009 -
We pulled in on Saturday night and my dd20 came down with a fever with suspected H1N1. Soon my husband and I had it and we were in our RV for the next 2 weeks. Owner couple checked on us daily and even brought over homemade soup to help with the healing process. We have never stayed at a campground where we were made to feel more like family in a very thoughtful way. When we finally recovered enough to get out we were directed to hidden breathtaking scenic areas that matched our strength levels and given wonderful coupons for local shows. Definitely listen to their advise on getting to the campground and getting around the area. Three different nights, they had musical entertainment and they kindly made sure we knew about all of it. There is a little restaurant called Cobbly Nob Grocery, Cafe & Pizza that delivers after 5 P.M. Great chicken wings and hamburgers. This campground is one of the only ones in Gatlinburg to stay open year-round and we will definitely go back. We feel like family now. We camped at Smoky Bear Campground in a Motorhome.
