Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy-to-navigate park and it was easy to find our spot. All of the sites appeared to be very level. We arrived late afternoon so we didn't have the opportunity to take the Mark Twain tour; however, we did go into historic Hannibal which is about 10 minutes away. The park is very quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at Mark Twain Cave Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The interior roads wind throughout the park but were easy to navigate. Thankfully the camp host showed us to our campsite or it would have been difficult to locate. Our site was slightly out-0f-level but it was acceptable. We camped at Camp A Way in a Motorhome.

Cheyenne KOA, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night while traveling cross-country. The campground is flat throughout so our site was level as well. It is a bit dusty. It is also very quiet. It is convenient to the freeway and easy to navigate. We arrived after-hours but the camp guy saw us arrive and re-opened the store to get us registered. We camped at Cheyenne KOA in a Motorhome.

Hi Valley RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here about 18 months ago so we didn't hesitate to stay here for this trip. The campground is very clean. Our site was level. The office personnel was friendly, courteous, and helpful. They also have on-site propane which was very helpful when I discovered I was almost empty. It is located close to shopping areas and restaurants. We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We traveled from Georgia to Idaho and back, so we stayed here on both legs of the trip. It's a beautiful park with concrete pads and grass between the sites. It is close to the freeway, so we did have a bit of night noise. They do have a guy that guides you to your site and explains the various hook-ups. The main road leading to the campground is undergoing some construction but was easy enough to navigate. We'd stay here again. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about a mile from Mesa Verde which is a must-see. Our camp faced the Mesa so the view was very good. We also visited Durango which is about 30 minutes away. Our site was level. There are plenty of in-park things to do (putt-putt, horseshoes, etc. The office folks were very accommodating. We camped at Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here about 18 months ago so when I was planning this trip I knew I would be happy with this campground. The office folks are very friendly and helpful. There's a small café in the camp office building. The sites are level and plenty long. The town is on Route 66 and we found it interesting to imagine it back in the day. Access to the Interstate is easy and there is a gas station close by that can handle big rigs. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Although we didn't visit Opryland, it is right across the street from this campground. The park was clean and quiet even though it is close to the freeway. We stayed in site 118 which the camp office guy said is a frequently sought-after site. It was large and fairly private. The only downside is the site is close to a dusty road. We would definitely stay at Two Rivers again. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the row of sites that were closest to the Mississippi river. We were probably 30 feet from the water and the view was spectacular. As their website states they are prone to flooding if the river overflows. They had just reopened a few days earlier from a flood. Be sure to contact them a day before just to make sure everything is OK. The sites are long and flat and made of concrete. We would definitely stay here again. The office lady was very friendly and courteous. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our site was level. Although close to I-40 we really didn't notice a lot of road noise. As one reviewer pointed out there was an abundance of flies, but we encountered those little pests in many of the CGs we visited. One nice feature this CG has is a small restaurant in the office area. While the menu is a little limited, the food was hot and the price was fair. We would stay here again. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tucumcari was once a thriving little town with historic Route 66 going through the center of it. A lot of the motels and restaurants are closed and boarded up, but it was very interesting to see what used to be. It looks like the town is trying to make a come-back. There is a relatively new grocery store, hardware store, etc. There are gas stations that are able to handle big rigs. We enjoyed seeing the town.

Campground at Barnes Crossing, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is close to restaurants and activities and is visually pleasant. There are plenty of trees. My only complaint is that our site was not very level...both back to front and left to right. The cable reception and Wi-Fi were good. We camped at Campground at Barnes Crossing in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We've been on a 5-week cross-country trip and this was one of the nicest campgrounds we stayed at. There's a nice store and the campground has fresh gravel and is level. The management plans various activities for the guests. While we didn't care much for the town of Gallup, the campground is close to the downtown area. Very good cable reception and Wi-Fi. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ballard RV Park, Thompson, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is NOT in Moab, but in Thompson Springs. I followed my GPS to the address given on the RV Park Review website and then had to back track about 35 miles to get to this campground. The campground appears to have been recently redone. The electric boxes are new and the gravel appears fresh. The pull-through sites are plenty long enough and relatively flat. The cable and Wi-Fi were weak but that was supposedly from a recent lightning strike. Overall we were very pleased with this site. We camped at Ballard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverfront RV Park, Garrison, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We parked here overnight on our way to Glacier Nat'l Park. The sites are level and we weren't too close to our neighbor. There is a building with showers, laundry, and game room but there really isn't an office. As we drove up we were greeted by a guy who led us to our site. A little later the nice lady who apparently was the manager came to our site to collect the site fee. It is close to a highway and RR tracks but the noise didn't bother us. If they had Wi-Fi the code wasn't offered to us. There is no cable or air reception so bring some DVDs. We camped at Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rocky Mountain RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

The roads and sites are fresh gravel. Our back-in site was level and not too close to the neighboring site. Staff was friendly and helpful. This park is right at the entrance to the park. Gardiner is a nice little town with several restaurants to choose from. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.
