We stayed in a oceanfront site. The back of the camper is about 10 feet from the water. Some of these sites have a restricted view due to tall hedges. Be sure to ask for an site with an unobstructed view. The pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. This is the most expensive campground we've ever stayed.

We stayed here overnight while traveling back home from Key West. The campground has a great set-up for overnighters...easy in, easy out. The lady in the office was very nice and helpful. If you're traveling to Gainesville or the surrounding area this is a good place to stay for a few days. The pool looked nice and there are farm animals for the kids to see. I liked it.!

I wasn't as impressed with this park as some of the other raters. The streets and sites are all pebbles over dirt. The crushed pebbles turn to dust, so everything gets coated in dust. Also, the Wi-Fi didn't work the entire time we were there. The view of the water was pleasant and the staff was friendly.

The office staff is very friendly and the check-in process was easy and efficient. We stayed in the newer section. The concrete pad was fairly level and there was plenty of room for our Class C and tow car. The campsite was very spacious and the aren't crammed together. This was our 4th visit to this park.

This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in. Level concrete pads surrounded by grass. We stayed in site 121 on the lake. There's a grocery store and restaurants within a mile or two. The pool is very nice. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

I certainly cannot rate this campsite as highly as others have. SOME of the sites have sewer connection, but most don't. Be sure to ask if this is a requirement. We stayed in site 27. It was on a slight downhill slant and was relatively small. Not much room to put outdoor chairs. We could not open the awning because a tree was in the way. The showers were clean but the shower was not a spray. It was a straight stream of water sort of like a garden hose. On the plus side the lake is visually very pleasant and the sandy beach was very nice.

The park is very nice and the camping area is spacious and adequately shaded. The grounds were clean and well-kept. The sites are relatively large and not too close together. As normal there was the one group who didn't think the 10pm quiet time applied to them. Overall, however, it was a good experience and I will go back if the occasion arises.

This campground is nicely wooded and most of the sites are shaded and level. While we enjoyed our stay, there are some pros and cons. Pros: level sites, quiet, not crowded, with a decent beach area. Cons: bath house was old and very dated, grass was overgrown, no trash receptacles anywhere in the park (had to go outside the gates to a dumpster), some sites have pea gravel but mine was dirt. Also the site I had was lower than the road. It rained one night so all of the water flooded our site. It appears that there are only two employees (the hosts) who work here. The campground is owned and operated by Georgia Power. I'm very surprised that they invest so little in the maintenance. Oh well, for 20 bucks what should I expect?

The park staff is very nice and helpful. We were disappointed that the campground no longer has cable available. It was a very quite and peaceful area and it is convenient to a grocery store.

We camped Wednesday through Friday during the last week of August. The full Summer rate is in effect until October. We were surprised that all of the attractions are now closed except on the weekend. You would think the rate would be less than full rate. There was very little to do. With the exception of that very disappointing fact, we were pleased with the campground. It is beginning to show its age, however. Many of the roads and campsite pads have deteriorated. The campground office folks can give you information about each site that isn't included in the website information, such as whether it is level, drop-offs, close trees, etc.

This is third time we've stayed at this campground. Since the new management company has taken over, it is a lot better. The security gate and keypad is a pain in the butt. You have to have a code to get in and the intercom doesn't work, so you have to call the office phone number. While you're waiting for the code information, you are blocking the only entrance. Even though I've stayed here before, I think the price of $50 is a bit steep, especially since it doesn't have cable TV. Also, the park office doesn't have any supplies and there is no RV store anywhere in the area, so stock up before you get to the park.

The owners were very helpful and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. The campground is very kid friendly and offers a lot of activities. The layout of the campground is not all that great. Many of the sites are steep and very unlevel. I saw several RVs with blocks under the jacks just so the jacks would reach the ground. Our site was relatively level because we asked for a level site. There were also a lot of locals there having kid birthday parties and using the pool, which made it very crowded. One thing I didn't like was the Direct TV. If you have multiple TV connections in your RV with splitters as connectors, you'll have to run the wire from the outside connection directly to the TV you want to use. If you have multiple TVs, only one will work. If you have kids, it's a decent place to go. If you don't have kids, I would only recommend it for a short overnight stay, but only if you can get a flat lot.

Due to budget cuts, the pool will not be open again this year (2010). Also some of the facilities are beginning to show wear, specifically the shower house. The drain was very sluggish and water pooled at your feet. However, overall, I think this campground offers good value. It's only $27 and it includes cable TV and sewer. One suggestion: get all your groceries and supplies before you get there. The nearest full-size grocery store is 20 miles away. You have to go to Columbus or Eufaula for a decent restaurant.

This was our first visit and it was great. The whole park was very clean and there is plenty to do. We rented an ocean front camp site, thinking we could sit at our camper and watch the ocean waves; however, the dunes and sea grass obstructed the view although we could see the ocean from a standing position. This was no big deal. We could still hear the ocean and it was only a 30-foot walk to the beach. I highly recommend this campground.
