Date of Stay: September, 2009
We are a family of seven traveling with three small children(ages 9, 5, 3). This was the best campground for children. Kid and family activities all weekend. Two train rides around the park daily, great playground, lake for canoeing, fishing, paddle-boating, and great swimming pool. Bathhouses and restrooms were EXTRA large and very clean. Campsites were a little tightly placed, but easily overlooked with the other pluses. We will return!!
Date of Stay: July, 2009
We have vacationed here for many years. The new owners seem to be trying to make an effort to clean the place up by renovating the main bathhouse. Our first trip here was in June. Terrible wind storm, of course not the campground's fault. The kids enjoy the play area and the creek for tubing. In June, the play area had no swings, just sand to play in. The main bath house was under construction; the second one was nasty, water will not drain out of the showers, 2 people cannot shower at the same time due to water pressure and temperature, the creek banks were covered in dog waste, which you had to walk through to get into the water. This is a pet friendly park, which means some continuous campers let their dogs run free to scare the kids. In July, the bathhouse was in the same condition, they did work on it while we were there, so they are trying. Dog waste was all cleaned up. Swings were hung. We ended up in the same camp spot each time. They are all nice, large, shaded spots, but the ones on the creek are the nicest. It seems that they save the BEST for the highest paying customers. We will try it again once the bathhouses are complete, I think they are on the right track.
