Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This visit was a pleasant surprise. We stayed here last year and it was not a good experience, we swore we would never return! This year, totally positive. I called after 5 pm and asked for a pull through big enough for a 40 footer towing. The young man on the phone went out of his way to find me a spot. I arrived about 39 minutes later and was greeted by a delightful lady who handled registration and led me to my space. I don't know if the park had a change of ownership or what, but we will definitely stop here again! We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $50.00

First the positives: showers were clean with plenty of hot water, good paved roads, convenient location. Now the negatives: the wifi is an absolute joke! When we were here last fall they said they were installing a new system to address the problem. If they did get a new system they should get their money back! Very early in the morning you can get very slow internet and then nothing later in the day. When I asked staff about it they lamely responded that they were having temporary problems with the system. I was there 11 days, not my idea of temporary. When we first arrived there were two dryers and four washers that were not working, you guessed it, 11 days later still not working! My wife happened to notice that the dryer vents were all plugged up with lint, apparently routine maintenance is not a big issue here. We have been staying at this park for about four years, we won't be back. The overall condition has been on the decline for sometime. The park is currently about 65% full timers as evidenced by all the old refrigerators, furniture and other debris scattered around. There was a guy across from us who actually built a room addition onto his RV while we were there. In addition to all the junk, there is a big issue with full timers parking their numerous cars in the road making it very difficult to get by in a big rig. If you're going to the CDA area I would recommend staying elsewhere We camped at Coeur D'Alene RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Park / West Entrance KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Not the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. We stayed in a space up near the top of the hill. The nearest restrooms/showers were functional but in dire need of remodeling. On a bright note, our space (127) had great wifi reception. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Entrance KOA in a Motorhome.

Iron Horse RV Resort, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The check in person was polite, not particularly friendly. The grounds were very neat and well mantainec, with wide paved roads and gravel spaces. All utilities functioned well and were logically located. The off leash pet area was very nice. We have stayed here before when heading east and will certainly stay here again. We camped at Iron Horse RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great stop over spot. There were quite a few long term residents there but their rigs and their spaces were immaculate.

You must try the Star Hotel for dinner. It is Basque food served family style. I left full and with two meals worth of leftovers.

Placerville KOA, Shingle Springs, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights at this park. At check in the employee was very pleasant and professional and the store appears well stocked. Our space was a pull thru with water and electric only. When we stayed here several years ago we were told that most of these sights would be getting sewer hook ups soon. Apparently hasn't happened yet. I also felt that the space was overpriced given the lack of sewer facilities.

We used the free shuttle to get to and from the Red Hawk Casino and found it to be ver convenient. We camped at Placerville KOA in a Motorhome.

We just stopped in for one night on our way home. Check in was smooth and clerk was very nice. We used a 30 amp, full hook up pull through space. Nice place with great views of Mt. Hood. We camped at Redmond / Central Oregon KOA in a Motorhome.

Watch your vehicle placement, sewer hook ups are quite a ways from the utility pedestal.

Coeur D'Alene RV Resort, Post Falls, Idaho

It is a nicely maintained urban park. We had a 50 amp full hookup pull through space on the north side of the park. All hookups worked well, however wifi was pathetic!

Showers were adequate but needed to be cleaned more often. We camped at Coeur D'Alene RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask for a spot as far from the freeway as possible. Not only does it cut down on traffic noise, it also gets you away from the permanent residents who don't always keep their sites real clean.

Icicle River RV Park, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice little park. We are in a "nose in" space so we are facing the river, great view! Very nice staff at check-in. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. Spaces are compacted gravel with paved roads. Some sites have concrete patios. Only negatives are no off leash dog area and the wifi is very poor. The park is only three miles from historic downtown Leavenworth and it is very quiet. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Icicle River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Kent, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I would describe this park as "average". It was convenient to where I was going but there was nothing special about it. Road noise was pretty bad, even late at night. The only real reason to stay here is it's as close to downtown Seattle as you can get. We camped at Seattle / Tacoma KOA in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park. Most notable is the room between spaces. We stayed in Line Camp and there was easily room for another rig between each site. I have never seen this much space before. The views within the park are incredible as is the views of the surrounding mountains. The park is located in close proximity to most of the Black Hills attractions. The only thing that would be nice to add would be a fenced dog run. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Sioux Falls KOA, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park for a one night stop over. The roads and pads are gravel and had been freshly graded when we arrived. The drawbacks to this park are that it is within 100 yards of the I 90 freeway and the spaces are fairly close together. Again, good place for a one nighter. The staff was excellent. We camped at Sioux Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. Everything is neat and clean and they are making lots of improvements. This is also a very quiet park which was quite nice. Pistol Pete's BBQ offered good food at a reasonable price. The only criticism I would have is that the $52 rate for a pull-through without sewer connection seems a bit high. We would stay here again. We camped at Billings KOA in a Motorhome.

Coeur D'Alene RV Resort, Post Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $42.00

This park features paved roads and very level gravel sites. The park is located in town and right next to I-90, so if you're looking for the camping experience, this isn't it. It is however very convenient To Coeur D Alene and the surrounding communities. The amenities are nice except the that the WiFi is terrible! Also, freeway noise is rather annoying. We camped at Coeur D'Alene RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tri-Cities RV Park, Kennewick, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with paved roads and nice level sites. All hook ups work well. It is convenient on and off the freeway. Not much to do in the surrounding area. A plus is the fact that it is next door to a large RV dealer so if you need any parts, supplies, or repairs, you don't have to go very far. We camped at Tri-Cities RV Park in a Motorhome.

Check In staff was friendly and efficient. The overall condition of the park is OK but nothing fancy. This park would be OK for a night but I wouldn't want to stay here for more than that. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Motorhome.
