Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Occasional jets from the USAF base nearby, but proud to hear our military training. Nice pull through sites, well maintained. Wifi not the best but not bad. Fairly convenient to town, visited the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Well done. Great views. Wanted to visit CM Russell museum, but it was Monday and it was closed. Bummer. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Big Sky Camp and RV Park, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

If you are driving through and you want to catch up on email, or watch any cable channel you want and you don't need 50 amps or a sewer hookup, this is the place. Pull into one of their 1 mile long spots, and go to sleep. No frills, but not at all as bad as it looks when you drive up. Give it a try! We camped at Big Sky Camp and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Butte KOA, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

All we could get was a 30 amp site in the heat but we made it work. It's a typical KOA with dirt sites and kind of unmarked boundaries. A bit of dust but not bad overall. Not sure if there is much else in the area; it looked pretty sketchy at the other park nearby. Visited the Mining Museum (yawn) and the Copper King Mansion (worth the tour) and had great sandwiches at the Hummingbird Café in town (loved it). They had a Chicken Shack restaurant at the park which served up some really good fried chicken, and the beans were fabulous! We camped at Butte KOA in a Motorhome.

Winnemucca I-80 KOA, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

I have had a change of heart since staying here the last time. Sure, it's still dusty here and we were even in a small dust storm during our stay, but the staff are so nice and helpful and they really make you feel at home. Everything worked fine and we will always use Hi Desert for a stop on our way through. We camped at Winnemucca I-80 KOA in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Meadows RV Park (Fort Hall Casino Campground), Fort Hall, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

For 20 bucks, what do you want? Not bad to spend a day in the Pocatello area. Nothing great either. No dumpster handy, just a can. No cable, no real WiFi. Actually picked up the local gas station WiFi better. Played the casino a bit, had some fun. Visited the Museum of Clean! What a hoot. We camped at Buffalo Meadows RV Park (Fort Hall Casino Campground) in a Motorhome.

Saguaro RV Park, Jackpot, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is for the RV park next to the casino parking lot. Don't know anything about the other park behind the casino. It's first come, first served, Put your money in an envelope and drop it in the iron maiden and you're set to go. Super long and wide RV sites. Could have put another rig towing behind me, no sweat. Lawns are immaculately trimmed and everything was clean. Good cable, passable Wi-Fi, the only drawback was 30 amp only. Been here before, will be here again. We camped at Saguaro RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coachland RV Park, Truckee, California

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Well, here we are again. We've stayed here before and were not unhappy, but this time not so much. You are in the pines and the place is clean and quiet, but man, they put you right on top of your neighbor. Our slide is 2 feet from the slide next door. Then there is the slowish internet, and by the way they've gone digital with their cable system, and they will loan you a converter, but for a guy who used to run a computer system at his workplace, it made me feel like a techno dinosaur to hook up my old analog tv. And nobody here who knows anything about hooking it up. Anyway, just one night then on with the trip. Missed the end of the SF Giants game, but according to my new smart phone, they won! Just couldn't watch it. We camped at Coachland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This park would be getting a higher rating except for a few bothersome things. Thing one is that there have been several yappy dogs for hours making our overnight $44 stay a real drag, and there is nobody to tell. Just an answering machine. That and the fact that the cable is fuzzy on the channels I wanted to watch and clear on all the others. Need that to be fixed. It's a good clean place to spend the night or to visit the area, but they need to clean up the noise. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay. A little loosey goosey on the registrations but OK. You just have to go over to the store. I guess they should have someone on-site to handle it as some were confused. Not I, worked fine. Place has a friendly feel. Cable, wi-fi worked great. Got a good night's sleep, plus you get to shop at Cabela's We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Cabela's RV Park & Campground, Sidney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Would stay here whenever passing by. There is freeway noise, but not too bad. Have to go to the store to register and there was some confusion among those who had reservations. We didn't and just took one that did not have a reserved sign. Love shopping at Cabela's and Wi-Fi worked as did cable, so a nice spot to spend the night. We camped at Cabela's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of permanents, which isn't always a bad thing, but just looks kind of junky. This is a pretty popular spot for overnighters and there were some pulling in and just using the electric only spots on the edge. Not bad for overnight, I guess. BBQ place on site - we were not over-impressed with the food. Smelled good, but a little dry. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Western Hills Campground, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Don't want to take too much away - don't want to add much either. It's a gravel lot. It has hookups. You wanna stay for the night, great. Nothing much to look at, but the staff do try and they have put together some stuff like a putt putt course and cut-out animals for the kids to laugh at. But for me and my house - stay in the rig, get up early and out. Everything worked. That's always good. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Millbrook, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of amenities - like games & pool and all that stuff. No cable, about 5 channels over the air. Sloooooow internet with limited bandwidth and all this for $59. What a deal. My own bad, we got lost with the help of our GPS and picked a park off the screen because we were tired. Must do better homework next time. This may be a good destination for some, but for the tired traveller? No way. We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in a Motorhome.

Phillips RV Park, Evanston, Wyoming

This place does not deserve a TL rating of 5! Much nicer than some nines we have stayed in. Older campground but a great stopping spot. Good Wi-Fi, cable and lots of trees! Great! We camped at Phillips RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wendover KOA, West Wendover, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in some nice KOAs across the country, but most are like this one. All dirt and gravel, not many trees, not real attractive and too expensive for what you get. This one is real close to a real nice casino (the Rainbow) and is easy on and off of I-80. No road noise, but freight trains to the rear. Just some rumbling, not many horns. OK for a quick stop, but the hotel rates are cheaper right close by. We camped at Wendover KOA in a Motorhome.
