Lake Leamon Campground, Wallace, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Seems to be a place for the locals to come and swim at the lake so there's lots of transient activity throughout the day. The sites are grass and are very close together. Most of the campers have taken up permanent residence at the park. Port-a-Potties were used for restrooms in part of the park. We camped at Lake Leamon Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Deer Run RV Park, Troy, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with a friendly staff. The road noise can be quite loud at times so pick your site carefully. The pool is not open per advertised hours and would have been a welcome relief since the temperature was over 100 degrees. We camped at Deer Run RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jessie Lea RV Park, Big Stone Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

New campground run by some of the best folks we've met. The campground is next to small river and a greenbelt walking trail through the town. The sites are gravel and mostly level. We stayed for 3 nights and will return when we have more time to stay longer. We camped at Jessie Lea RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The sites are large, level and gravel. The roads are also gravel and can be a problem while trying to climb the steep hill running through the camp ground. We had a great stay noe the less. We camped at Holly Cove RV Resort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Mountain RV Resort, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The camp ground roads are very narrow, gravel and uneven. The sites are very close together, about 8 feet apart, and no more then six of the sites have a privacy fence between them. The site itself was very narrow and not level. The staff was friendly with one exception. The camp ground advertises a pond on site, the pond is nothing more then large puddle, lots of bugs. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great looking camp ground located below towering trees full of spanish moss. The sites are wide and deep, many have decks over the river so you can fish at your site. We will be back. We camped at Prairie Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The park seemed a bit run down. Lots of long term residents living in uncared for trailors. The restrooms were disgusting the entire weekend. The park was over run with non-campers using the on sight go carts, very loud. I had several issues with the electric hookup not pushing enough volts. I will not be returning. We camped at Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mid Bay Shores Rec Area (Military FamCamp), Niceville, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We had made reservations months in advance and confirmed them before we left the house. When we arrived at the camp ground the manager told us that the park was full and that the reservation we thought we had were never forwarded to the camp ground. The problem is the office making reservations is located 4 hrs away and the two sites do not communicate very well. We finally got into a site, fortunately someone cancelled. The camp ground was over grown, in poor repair and bi-sected by a very busy and loud overhead bridge. The overhead canopy over the picnic table at our site was damaged, the picnic table itself broken and the grill was rusted through the bottom. It appeared that many sites were occupied by very long termers. The only thing going for this place is that the restrooms were at least clean. We camped at Mid Bay Shores Rec Area (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.
