Miller Creek RV Resort, Johnson City, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best campgrounds on this trip. Level landscaped sites, friendly people. The first night here was a community meal attended by about 20 persons in the campground. Good food and good conversation. Very clean and well kept park. I would certainly stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to stay for an extended period of time. We camped at Miller Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Mineral Wells, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful state park. There were deer in my front yard and the lake in my back yard. The sites are well done and mostly level. It is quiet and peaceful. I would come back. I recommend sites #59 or 64 for the best lake views. Both would accommodate large rigs. I can see that it would be very busy in the summer. There are good bike and hike trails and rock climbing here. Be sure to visit Clark Botanical Gardens while in the area: the best I have seen across the US. We camped at Lake Mineral Wells State Park in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This park needs some work. I looks like it used to be quite nice, but may be suffering in the present economy. The restrooms and laundry room were very nice. My RV site was a very long pull-through with plenty of room between RV's. I enjoyed the cable TV and Wi-Fi. I gave it a lower rating simply because the overall appearance was one of decline. I might stay here again, but there is another park down the road that looks better at the same or less cost. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park, Pratt, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Not many campgrounds in the area. It is OK for an overnight. The row of sites that I was in was very tight! The people were nice. I enjoyed the cable TV and the Wi-Fi. I would stay again, but would ask to be in a different row where the sites were not so close. It is basically a gravel parking lot behind a motel, but again I enjoyed the cable TV and Wi-Fi. Local kids were playing basketball at 10:30 at night, and at 4:30 in the morning, campground residents were visiting loudly before leaving for work. We camped at The Evergreen Inn Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is close to the interstate, but the noise is not too bad. The sites are level. The owners are trying very hard to improve this older campground. The larger pull through sites were quite close with slides and larger rigs, but certainly acceptable. In an area with few full-service campgrounds, it is certainly "a prairie oasis". I would stay here again. We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Very nice park inspite of not having full hookups. Sites are level and paved. There are wild turkeys wandering around. Very nice bike and walking trails, country views. I would certainly stay there again. We camped at Hall County Park in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

All services were good and the people friendly. There is a railroad spur right beside the park, but it's in a deep valley and used very little. Near the interstate, but the noise was not bad. Was convenient for touring in the area. The laundry room was larger that most campgrounds, and reasonable. I used Passport America for the $15.00 per night for 4 nights. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Not a fancy place, but it serves my purposes. I stayed there 5 nights, while I drove my car around western North Dakota and visited the sights. It is a very interesting area to visit. I think it is much larger than 63 sites listed above. The laundry room and restrooms were immaculate and very nice. It covers a very large area and also has a permanent housing area. The people in the office were friendly and helpful. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

A Prairie Breeze RV Park, Menoken, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I don't seem to choose the "resort" parks, but this place was convenient for touring in and around Bismarck, just about 10 minute drive to the city. It was near the interstate, but noise does not bother me. The sights were all pull throughs, level with good hookups. The Wi-Fi was excellent. The laundry was small, but adequate. The restrooms were very nice. I would stay there again. We camped at A Prairie Breeze RV Park in a Motorhome.

Frontier Fort Campground, Jamestown, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The people in the office were friendly. I did not use the restrooms, but I checked them out. They were fairly clean, but you had to walk through a dirty laundry room to get to them. The site was level, water was leaking on one of the faucets outside. There were quite a few older rigs where people my have been living permanently. It was convenient for touring in the area. This campground needs a lot of work. I would probably stay here again strictly for the convenience. The $18.00 cost was with my Passport America discount. We camped at Frontier Fort Campground in a Motorhome.

Countryside Campgrounds, Lennox, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Not at all fancy. Park is located near the interstate and behind a motel. The sites were level and the Wi-Fi was great. All hookups worked fine. I stayed a few nights as I was touring in Sioux Falls and wanted to avoid the pricey campgrounds closer to the city. I do not mind the traffic noise and it was a convenient place to stop. I would stop again. For others it may not be to their liking: it is not a "vacation spot". We camped at Countryside Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Howell Station COE, Pella, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is delightful as many of the COE's are. It has a great bike trail running through it. The cost of $10 was with my Golden Age Pass. I am a single woman and felt very safe here. It was quiet and relaxing. We camped at Howell Station COE in a Motorhome.
