Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night and we couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning. Very small sites and the whole place felt cramped. We have a 16 month old and we hardly got out of our motorhome. They have some play equipment and a mini-golf course, but there was a huge wasp's nest in the playhouse right next to the swings. And the mini-course had rocks all over it. The employees were not helpful at all and I had to wait 10 minutes to check in while the lady was on the phone with her friend. They had a DJ there playing music until almost 10PM. Just a bad experience all around at this place. My suggestion is to look elsewhere for a night's stay. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice place to stay if you're just driving through. Easy access to I-81 and nice big open sites. Friendly employees and good store on site. We stayed 3 nights with a 16 month old, so we ended up going elsewhere for entertaining our child. Not a very good place for kids. They have a "playground", but all the equipment is rusty and not very safe. Still a nice place. A bit "parking lot-ish" but nice. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped one night in this campground and really enjoyed our stay. The campsite was clean and quiet. Very friendly employees and they were very helpful. It's a nice wooded area so there is some sense of privacy. The campsite was almost full, but they have nice wide spaces. The drive out to the campsite was a bit long and the road was narrow, but overall a very good place to stay. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Motorhome.
