About vwbluestar

Have been RVing for 45 years, starting with a cabover camper on a pickup. Husband and I fully retired in 2003 with the idea of seeing as much of our fantastic country as possible. Enjoy reading and submitting the reviews. The reviews are very helpful in choosing where we decide to stay.

Very nice park. We had originally requested a site back up to the river, however upon arriving saw there wasn't any water in the river. We were assigned a pull-through with no problem. Some noise from US 99 and a construction lot next door, but not bad. Very nice pool and spa and rec room. Sites are level, but the curb to get in is rather hard. We have seen this in a couple of parks. WIFI and cable were excellent. Not sure how parks can accomplish speed control without the speed bumps, but most drivers seem to think it is the Indy 500. Too many pets and children to be driving like that.

This is a beautiful, well maintained gated resort. It has a very nice grassy dog run. Beautiful pool and spa. Cable and WIFI worked great. Registration was quick and personnel very friendly and courteous. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice park. Would have given it a 10 if it had had grass as shown in the pictures. The laundry room was excellent. It does work on the card system, but you are refunded the deposit and any money left when you are done. Washers were $1.25 and dryers $1.00 and dried completely. Cable was excellent and we had no problem with the WIFI as previously reviewed and was told on check in that it might be slow because the park is at almost capacity every night. Our site was about as far from the office as it could be, but still no problem. The pool and spa were immaculate. All in all a very pleasant stay and we will come again if in the area.

We arrived early Saturday afternoon on Labor Day weekend and was greeted by a gentleman that said not to worry about paying until we left. We did have reservations. We never did register. When we got ready to leave on Tuesday morning, still could not find a manager to pay. Rate on their website said $36 a day before Good Sam discount, so taped a check to managers door and left. It was mentioned in previous reviews about "great cable and WIFI". The cable did not work and no one at the park could explain how to make it work. WIFI was sporadic. Since we did not register and receive any instructions, had to find the original gentleman and ask for the password. We were forced to use our "Hotspot" frequently to contact family. Not sure what the schedule for trash pick up was, but the dumpster was overflowing with more trash stacked around the dumpster. The grounds were also filthy. Our poor "four-legged" baby came back from walks with numerous burrs. We will not return.

The stay was basically a nightmare. The address says Garberville, but is about 8 miles south of the town. WIFI did NOT work. Was told "someone" had used all the bandwith and they could not reactivate. Was told it would be up and working the day after we arrived, but that never happened. Verizon Hotspot did not work either. Was told AT&T doesn't work at all there. We could at least make and receive calls. Was able to get the Hotspot about 5 miles south at the Piercy turnoff. Park is next to a gas station/truck stop so a lot of noise from there and also the Hwy 101. Grounds needed a lot of cleanup and men's bathroom close to RV parking had a sign that said the sink was broke and to use the main bathroom. A lot of older permanent rigs were parked around the grounds. We will not return.

This is our second stay at this little park. Very basic, no frills. Staff was very friendly and helpful. WIFI and cable worked great. Spaces were very level with nice grass between. Park is right next to Hwy 101 and some truck noise can be heard, but tolerable.

Park was convenient to the harbor. WIFI worked extremely well. Follow your own directions for backing into a site. Gentleman who guided us, and we watched many others, had us backing and pulling forward numerous times to get in to our space. Our site was basically level, although observed many others that were not. Sites on the far south side would not be roof satellite friendly. We assumed we'd be given a 50 amp because of the size of our rig. Did not think to ask and wound up with 30 amp even though there were 50 available. We could have asked to be moved, but had already set up, when we discovered the mistake. Also, appeared the 50 amp sites were not as level as the one we were assigned. Odd configuration for sewer connections as mentioned in previous reviews. Appeared to be quite a few long time residents. Price was reasonable, considering the location and what other parks in the area charged.

This is our third stay here. By far, the nicest park in Florence. Service is great, hosts are very friendly and helpful. Good size dog area with pea gravel. Everything worked great. WIFI was excellent.

This was our second visit to this little park. A lot of permanent residents, but neat and well maintained. WIFI was excellent. Manager was very friendly. We will definitely come back. Easy on and off for I-5.

Agree with previous reviewers. The setup is quite unusual. We chose this park because it had the best rating in the area. Not saying much for the rest of the area. Our first mistake was asking for a pull-through, since we were only going to be here 2 nights. We were assigned a space at the far end of the park with many trees, thus our satellite would not work. Our site was somewhat unlevel and gave up, since we were only here for 2 nights. WIFI was extremely slow and kept getting kicked off. Finally gave up on it. When making the reservation, asked about the WIFI and was told: "Depends on how full the park is." If we had been told our space was as far as possible from the antenna, would have asked for a closer space even if it was a back in. Did notice, as mentioned by others, some spaces were extremely close and trees could cause a problem. Not finding anything in the "instructions" regarding washing vehicles, spouse was washing front of rig. Maintenance came by and said: "OK to wash, just don't use soap." Nothing mentioned anywhere. Guess they do need to put everything in writing. Will not visit this park again.

Very nice park. A lot of permanent residents, but well kept and quiet. Wifi worked great. Park is convenient to everything. All the sites appeared to run low in the front. To have been completely level, would have made our step quite high, so made do with being somewhat low. We will stay here again, if in the area. Camp host was very helpful. Reservations are recommended as they are quite popular.

Very nice park. Quick and easy registration with reservation. Our site was somewhat unlevel. In order to be level, we had quite a step to the ground. As stated before, pads a quite narrow. WiFi was very slow most of the time. Apparently had to do with how many were on line at the time.

Date of Stay:

Park is pretty basic. All hook ups that were needed. Good place to stop for a night or two. We usually spend two nights at parks, just to rest up. Manager was very helpful and full of information.

Nice enough park. Convenient to I-40 and historic Kingman. Does seem to be quite a few long-term residents, but still clean and quiet. Some noise from I-40, but not bad. Check-in was a hassle, as it would not accept any credit card ("no dial tone"), so had to pay cash. Wi-Fi was very weak, slow and intermittent. Very frustrating. Dog "park" is small and totally gravel and without a trash can, although dumpster was not too far.

Agree with previous review. This is a gem in the rough. Beautiful little park. Well maintained. Sites were assigned to give privacy. Some parks assign beside each other even though there are plenty of empty spaces. Host was very friendly and helpful. Nice grassy area to walk our small dog. A large dog run to turn them loose, but no grass there. Still suitable. Saw a lot of activities, i.e. ping pong, snake toss, play ground. Easy in and easy out. Somewhat off of the highway, but then no highway noise. Wifi is excellent! Cable excellent with aprx 60 channels.
