Wonderful campground!! Wide, level sites. Plantings between each site. Everyone friendly! Staff amazing. Lots of activities. Golf course, nightly music, pool, laundry. Be warned that the laundry uses a card system so you must buy a card for $5 then load a minimum of $10 so my one load of laundry would have been $15. This is one of the few campgrounds we have visited that we would consider staying for a month or the winter season. Definitely returning.

Great place to stay; lots of activities and reasonably-priced golf. Restaurant has good food at a good price. However, getting our 35' motorhome between the concrete pad and the hookup box required care. The camp host was great at directing my husband into the spot. Staff and block watch host all very friendly but the residents not so much. Lots of rules. Had to wear a name tag and that identified us as 'not permanent' to the residents. We would stay here again.

Passport rate reflects discount; they honor Passport for 7 nights. We had a long pull thru. Good ATT cell service. Lots of activities - bingo, dinners, on site café, 2 musical entertainment acts while we were there. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sites are close together and there is noise if your neighbor has a diesel and runs the motor. Otherwise quiet location even though it's close to I-10. We would stay here again.

Excellent location and management. We had a river front site for $20 rather than $14 for off river site (passport rate). They have a pot luck dinner and movie on Friday nights. Laundry very reasonably priced. Small park. We will stay here again.

Camped with our 4-yr old granddaughter. Got a nice site near the farm animals. Staff assisting us were great! We enjoyed the pool, hay ride, everything about the place! DTV and ATT card worked. When we asked our granddaughter if she liked this campground or the other one we visited last week she said THIS ONE! We will be back.

Great place to visit with children or adults only. Pool was wonderful; there is a playground and also miniature golf to enjoy. A little difficult to get Directv because of number of trees but we were successful in getting a signal. Sites are spacious and level. Since we were there mid week there were a number of empty sites. We had a long site with lots of shade and privacy.

Park name has changed to Desert Palms RV Resort as it has new owners effective December 2014 according to office staff. New Passport America affiliated park. Regular rate of $30. Large level sites, good electric service. Negatives: Road noise and train noise. With the use of our a/c we could minimize the outside noise. Our cat was looking out the window and saw a train and hid under the sofa. The laundry facilities are clean and well maintained. We did not go in the restrooms. We will not return here again.

30 amp at our site was broken but the 50 amp worked fine. It's a good value if you are just passing thru. Sites are close together. Noisy location, easy on-and-off bypass road. We would stay here again if we were passing thru.

Beautiful park on the river. We spent the evening watching the barge traffic. Pull thru sites are long enough for motorhome and tow vehicle without unhitching. Definitely plan to visit here again.

Date of Stay:

Definitely a good value with Passport America discount. Long enough pull thru site that we didn't have to unhook our tow vehicle. We would stay here again.

San Benito is by far the worst Thousand Trails campground we have been in. Very dirty, unkempt place. Roads in rough shape. Buildings not maintained. Long term or annual sites trashy looking. Restrooms not cleaned daily. Hot tub not working. We drove around and counted 189 'red dot' sites which mean broken electrical service. Another 120 have been converted into 50 Amp sites for an additional charge. Employees didn't care, which is evident from the manager on down. We were treated very rudely by two different employees when we had a problem and wanted help resolving it. The only exception to the poor attitude was the rangers who really made an effort to be helpful. Employees riding around on golf carts continually but not doing any work. The sites were very dirty and no effort had been made to remove all kinds of nasty rubbish, including used tampons and broken glass. The campground could be beautiful as it is large and in a quiet location. We will not stay here again.

Excellent check in service. Campground has 16 overnight sites according to their website. Mostly long term residents. We had a long level pull thru 50 amp site for $12.50 with 50% Passport America discount. Easy access to I-5. Good for an overnight stay. If you have children there are no activities to keep them occupied. We would probably stay here again.

Thousand Trails membership park now owned by Encore system so public sites available. We are members thus the $0 nightly rate. We stayed here many times from 2008-2010 and were happy, but this time found it was less than adequate. First site we tried was narrow and not level and we could not get DirecTV. We moved to riverside and still could not get DirecTV. Other campers came over and said since the trees grew higher almost no one could get satellite TV, and there is no over-the-air TV. Road traffic and railroad noise much louder than in 2010. Campground store seems to be gone. Public laundry available. We will probably not stay here again as it is 4+ miles down a narrow 2-lane road. Campground is not near anything.

Date of Stay:

Pleasantly surprised. We got a nice back-in site with full hookups. Satellite TV worked great; AT&T card worked great. Pool open. Loved the quiet as it is off-season until school is out. It is about 30 minutes to Leavenworth. Trimming needs to be done on some of the roadways. Staff friendly. We would definitely stay here again. This is one of our membership parks in Thousand Trails and we don't pay - thus the $0 nightly rate.

Great park. We had a view of the golf course and also played 9 holes - cost is $10 and $5 a person to ride the cart. Quiet, long, level pull thru sites. We will definitely stay here again.
