Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very well maintained park. The interior roads were wide and easy to navigate. For a private campground we were surprised at the size of the campsites. We were escorted to our campsite after check in. Staff extremely friendly, campground very clean. The interior roads were good for getting a little exercise and walking, close to the interstate, without a lot of road noise. You do hear an occasional train as the crossing is just up the road, but it didn't disturb us one bit. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to a local micro distillery (Bourbon 30 Spirits) and restaurant (Local Feed) in Georgetown, KY. Both were excellent choices, probably the best bourbon we've ever had as well as the best beef brisket and mac and cheese I'm ever had. Definitely recommend both of these places if you don't feel like cooking in.

Bellefonte / State College KOA, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Good place for a quick overnight stop, close to I-80 but not a lot of road noise. Campground seemed very well kept and the staff was friendly. Price was a little high, but there are limited options on that stretch of highway. We camped at Bellefonte / State College KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Moose River Campground, St Johnsbury, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice little park, the owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. This was our first time here, and we loved the place. We do not have children, and camped here with another couple. If you have children, this is not the place for you - there is nothing for them to do, no pool, no game room, no children's activities. The campground was quiet and very clean. They had a group bonfire with live entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday nights of Labor Day weekend, as well as a pot luck Roast Beef dinner on Saturday. Cannot wait to camp here again ! We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kingdom Trails has 100+ miles of off-road mountain biking trails. Trail access passes cost $15/day/person. Wonderful location for mountain biking.

The owners provide you a car route that takes you to Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Cabot Cheese, numerous Maple Houses as well as other sites in the area.

Field and Stream RV Park, Brookline, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were typical of an older private campground, a little tight depending on whochre site you get. The ones that back up to the woods were really large and nice, but these seemed to be occupied by seasonal campers. We camped at Field and Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA, Granite City, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I called 2 hours before arriving for an overnight stop on our way throuh the area. I was not told that the campground was a) in an industrial park, b) near active railroad tracks and c) next to a car race track. The noise from the racing was very loud, so we were forced to run AC he entire time in order to block out the noise. I guess the "good" news is that you can't hear the interstate, but that is because the racetrack noise drowns out all other road noise. The site was a decent size and sufficient to stay hooked up. One of the things I thought was odd is that the laundry room is locked up at 7 pm, so if you arrive late afternoon, don't plan on using the facilities to do laundry. We would not stay here again. We camped at St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park, Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for an overnighter on our way to Maine. The lady in the office was very friendly and gave us a nice site where we didn't have to unhook. We were here off season and in the middle of the week, so it wasn't very crowded. During prime season, I'd imagine most sites would be really tight if your camper is longer than 25 ft. Nice place to stay if you are visiting Old Sturbridge Village. We camped at Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rockwood Park, Saint John, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were all gravel with no trees, which was not a problem in September, but I'd be hesitant to stay in the summer with little shade. The park was a bit on the noisy side, but that is to be expected when staying in a city campground. Overall a good location to visit the Bay of Fundy and the Reversing Falls. Our stay was to short to take advantage of the zoo, golf course, or bike trails that are in the park. The signs for finding the campground could be better, but the proper GPS settings would do that. We camped at Rockwood Park in a Travel Trailer.

Desert of Maine , Freeport, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park looks a bit run down at the entrance, but once inside the sites are a nice size. We enjoyed the free admission to the walking tour of the Desert of Maine attraction, which is included in the fee. The sites are nicely shaded, but the roads are really narrow, which can make backing a long rv into the sites a challenge. Some of the hookups are not on the standard side of the site, so this may be an issue if you don't have a long electric cord and a long water hose. We'd stay here again if in the area. We camped at Desert of Maine in a Travel Trailer.

Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of the premium water front sites, which are water and electric only. The site was larger than normal, and the bay view was well worth sacrificing the sewer and cable hookups. We'd definitely stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with 3 other families in the newly opened "big rig" area towards the front of the campground. The sites were probably the largest we've ever seen in a private campground. The bathrooms were spotless, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and the camp store well stocked. This is a very convenient place to stay if you are going to the Sight and Sound Theatre, as it is only about a 10 minute drive. Just be prepared for the traffic on Rt 30, which there is no getting away from while entering or leaving the campground. I've rated this campground an 8 out of 10 due to two issues. First, there is a lot of road noise coming off of Rt 30. On the weekday, this noise is all night long. There is also a business adjacent to the campground that opens relatively early in the morning (7 AM) and you get to hear the air ratchets and power tools. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Canyonlands RV Resort & Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a number of days in August. Compared to many of the campgrounds in the area, this one had plenty of shade trees. In fact, we didn't bother to put out our awning, and didn't miss it. The sites are on the small side, but the campground is within easy walking distance to the town center of Moab. The only downside of this campground was the road noise from highway that runs through town. The bathrooms were clean, and the laundry facility was well appointed. We'd consider staying here again next time we are in the area. We camped at Canyonlands RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

United Campground of Durango, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are extremely small, if you are looking for a campground that offers private sites this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a campground on the Durango Trolley route, then this is a good place to stay. The trolley stops right outside the campground and runs to Durango every 20 minutes. The bathrooms were clean, the laundry facility was well appointed and clean as well. We've stayed here 2 times in the last 2 years. We camped at United Campground of Durango in a Travel Trailer.

Clear Creek RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Small sites, barely enough room for the tow vehicle to park with the trailer. Camper behind us was close enough to reach out and touch the the back. We thought based on the description that we'd be able to walk to Golden, not really possible as it is a distance from the campground. In addition people not staying at the campground had easy access to the campground from the walking path. Do no think we'd stay here again. We camped at Clear Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
