Labor Day Weekend 2005 we spent at Holiday travel park and the park was loaded. We went with another family and the sites we had were large, level and grassy. All facilities were kept clean which seemed like a hard task with the amount of people that were using the facility. The Security seemed to have their priority's wrong by hassling kids for playing in the playground after 10:00PM and ignoring the inconsiderate campers that decided all wanted to hear they're music after quiet time and decided to turn it back on at 7:00 AM. 2 Bikes and a Bike trailer were stolen off of a site late one evening and security instead of trying to assist just said it was probably locals coming in to the park and taking stuff. Sounds like a cop out to me and besides if security was working correctly then no one would be coming in at night that did not belong in the campground. With that said most of the staff was very friendly and I would recommend going there if you have kids. With 4 Swimming Pools, Game Room and plenty of activities for the kids they will have a blast. We camped at Holiday Trav-L-Park in a Tent Trailer.

I have been to New Bern KOA twice this year. The first time quite by accident since I was late in reserving a site for Memorial Day weekend. The new owners of this campground have done a awesome job. The Campground is right off of Highway 17 and the only negative thing I can say is that there is now warning before you come upon the campground. I did a power slide with a trailer behind my van trying to make the driveway without doing a U-Turn. The Campground is small and everyone is so friendly. By the time we left the campground we were so impressed by the staff and the park we made reservations for July 4th weekend. July 4th weekend we showed up and the temperature was in the high 90's and as soon as I set up I found out my A/C was not working. Not only did the staff spend about 45 minutes inside of my hot trailer troubleshooting but fixed the problem and when I tryed to pay them they just acted like this was normal routine and would not take any payment. My kids had a blast at the pool and the special events that the staff hosted and I really feel sorry for one of the owners since my daughters friend while trying to hit the Piniata took the owner out instead, but he took it all in stride. We have made numerous friends at this family friendly campground and are now planning numerous group outings. I will return again and again there is no place better to spend a July 4th weekend!! We camped at New Bern KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Stayed twice this year. I would not recommend this campground for more then a 1 night stay. It is right on Kings Dominion which makes it a great place to stay the night before going to the Amusement Park and that is the only reason that I will stay there. The toilets were for the most part clean put the showers both times I was there was not clean at all. Alot of the W/E sites are really small and difficult to get into. My 6 year old liked splashing water on me and his sisters when he was in the pool. The Pool Nazi would not allow this. I would understand if some people were in floats reading books and trying to relax, but floats were not allowed and people were trying to keep cool and have fun. With a little site clean-up and updating of the facilities this would be a real nice campground if they got rid of the Pool NAZI!!! We camped at Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA in a Tent Trailer.
