High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Just our kind of campground. Roomy sites, rural type setting, large grassy areas for walking the dogs, very nice owner/operator. Not a "resort" type place, but we don't look for pools, spas, hot tubs, games, get-togethers, or "activities". We like a clean, roomy, quiet, friendly campground, where we are comfortable with the dogs, where the hookups are well-placed and work well, and where the in-and-out is easy. We were in a 40' motorhome towing a car and it was very easy to get around without unhooking the car. We will definitely stay here again, if we are here again at days' end. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

Eagle Tree RV Park, Poulsbo, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three nights. We did not have the problem with the owner that the previous reviewer did. Not questioning their experience, just saying that ours was different. We were traveling with 5 pups that we were delivering to their new adoptive families, and the owner, whom I spoke with by phone only, was very accepting of this. We walked the pups around the campground and had no problem finding them some grass to use when necessary. The sites are close together, but this is so common in many RV parks that I took off only one point. Our motorhome is 40' and we had no problem getting in and out. I took off another point because the WIFI was unpredictable, in that some of the passwords did not work. But, over all, it was a very pleasant place to be still for a couple of days, and served our needs well. We do not use the campground restrooms or showers anyway, so I can't speak to them. The people in the office were very pleasant and helpful. We camped at Eagle Tree RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I really liked this campground. It is about 10 miles or less from Santa Fe, just took a few minutes to get to old downtown area. This park is out in the country, although it looks like there is a lot of building-up going on in the nearby areas. Great views all around of mountains; great stars at night (not lots of artificial light on); very nice staff (family-owned and run); very quiet. Not particularly "fancy", not a "resort" type campground, but had everything we needed, plenty of room between sites, easy to get in and out of, and felt very safe. Very pleasant, and we would stay here again. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park; we were in a 40 ft. motorhome, towing a car, but unhooked the car before arriving at the park, and were glad we did. Without the toad, the interior roads were plenty big enough. Very pleasant staff; we came here for the balloon festival, and the shuttle service was great! We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pioneer RV Park, Lander, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a work in progress, but is an excellent place to stay overnight, or even for a few days. They opened in 2004, and are still working on planting trees, adding amenities, etc, but the host/owners are very nice people. The campground is very easy to get in and out of; the sites are wide and long; one of the easiest in-and-out we stayed at. No shade, none of the "extras" that we never use anyway, like swimming pool, grills, miniature golf, horseshoes. But was very close to the Lander municipal golf course, and the back nine was the view from our site. It also was very clean, with a large grassy area for dog-walking. The owners are dog people too, and do request that we all pick up after our pooches. This is not a "fancy" type of campground, and some would not like it, but if you want a place to stay for the night that is easy and friendly, this is it. The owners have lots of plans for the park, and we plan to return next year to see their progress. Made a perfect stop on our way to Grand Teton Natl Park. We camped at Pioneer RV Park in a Motorhome.
