Novato RV Park, Novato, California

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park. A good place to stay if you're on your way somewhere else or plan to be gone all day touring the beautiful San Francisco bay area. However, it isn't a place to park and relax all day in your RV. The spaces are very close together and are gravel. All roads in the park are paved. Wi-Fi is one hour free and then a charge after that. The RV section seems to be an after thought. Most of the property is a trailer park with permanent residents. There are lots of kids who play in the RV area. Expensive for what you get, but to be expected since it is so close to San Francisco and there aren't many RV parks in the area. We camped at Novato RV Park in a Motorhome.

Smithwoods RV Park, Felton, California

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We liked everything about this RV park. It's been in the same family since 1920. Very friendly and helpful. Beautiful Redwood trees throughout the park and area. We would rate it higher if it had WiFi and 50 amp. service. We'll go back. We camped at Smithwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay, California

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place fills up with fishermen and groups on weekends. Get reservations. We were there on a Wednesday and Thursday in November, but couldn't stay over the weekend because of advanced reservations. Owner came by as we were pulling in to verify that the site was acceptable. Not a big campground but it's in a nice area. We camped at Bodega Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful spot right on a golf course and a river. Close to the freeway but quiet. Not many people in November. Very clean campsites. Leaves were picked up nearly every day. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Crescent City / Redwoods KOA, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is the first year that this KOA is open all year. We were the only Class A in the place. There was one Class C and a couple of Fifth Wheels. It is a beautiful location. New owners are going to "reclaim" some of the sites in the Redwoods that have been overgrown by berry vines and weeds. I was told that all of the driveways and RV sites will be regraveled this winter. Fall and winter are a good time to visit. We were told it is usually full from July through September. It is a beautiful location and worth visiting. WiFi was free. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Betabel RV Park, San Juan Bautista, California

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and well landscaped park. Many sites are back-in, but worth it because of the grass strip behind the sites and the extensive landscaping. There are some landscaped pull-through sites and some that are just paved. Sites are wide and well equipped with water, dump, phone, WiFi, satellite TV hookup and 50 amp. Pretty close to Monterey and the coast which keeps the temperature more moderate. Also close to Gilroy Outlet Stores (6 miles) for those who want to shop. Great staff and beautiful park. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.
