We live close to this campground and sometimes grab a short weekend here when possible. This park is always very clean and well maintained. The perfect place to get away from it all for a while. Campground is beside Smith Lake, which offers many opportunities for fishing, boating, etc. There is a beach and swimming area on the property. Staff members have always been friendly and helpful.

We stayed in area "D". The bathrooms/showers were on top of a hill in this area. Area "C" is a more level area. Many of the sites are just pull offs which would put your awning on the pavement with a lovely view of the road. We were fortunate enough to get a back in with a slight downhill grade to the fire pit and a large space. Lots of things to do here for kids, (beach, swimming, paddle boats, etc). Bathrooms/showers were cleaned every morning and stayed clean in our loop. Security patrols regularly. Our first trip to this park, we will definitely return!

Nice park which is ran by the city of Gadsden. Some sites are really close together. Beautiful area; perfect for a stop-over. Clean restrooms and showers with hot water all day long! Very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay here, even though we prefer more "country" campgrounds.

Our first time at Cheaha and definitely not our last! The campground is in need of repairs, as most Alabama State Parks are, but we enjoyed our stay here. We stayed at the upper campground and some sites have erosion problems. At the time of our stay, one of the 2 bath houses had a water problem and was closed. The other was clean, but in need of some cosmetic repairs. The camp store was well stocked and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

We camped here while fishing over Halloween Holidays. This campground is extremely well kept and it was a great experience! Bath houses and restrooms were spotless and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. If you want a pleasant stay at a campground away from the hustle and bustle, this is it!

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend in a popup and found the stream close to the site we had reserved was about 40 yards away from the site. Not a big deal, as we could still hear the water and it was a level site once we got the pup backed down the hill! Showers were clean and had hot water everyday, although we only went in the mornings. Bathrooms were semi-clean and got cleaned sometimes more than once a day. Many activities provided by the campground daily, mostly for kids. Overall, after driving by a few other campgrounds in the general area, we were extemely happy with our choice!
