New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We had a pull through site that was adequate however there were a lot of low hanging tree branches that scraped the roof the MH on our way into the back part of the campground. These low hanging branches need to be cut all over the park and over the access roads. Two of the dryers and two of the washers were broken the entire time we were there. Also, you had to go to the main office to get quarters to use the machines. I suggested they put in a dollar change machine in the laundry room however the staff didn't seem too thrilled by the idea. I'm sure there are other nice parks in the area. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Motorhome.

Nature's Campsites, Voluntown, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is actually a great family campground with wonderful staff. I would have rated it higher except that the inside park roads are awfully narrow with big ruts. I know there had been some recent rains and that may be the reason. Our pull through sites were huge. However, a 40' would have trouble swinging in from the road due to low overhanging branches and narrow roads. Two big pools for the kids and lots of activities. We camped at Nature's Campsites in a Motorhome.

Melville Pond Campground, Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well kept secret! Only 5 miles from beautiful Newport. The grounds are well kept and the staff is helpful and friendly. The tenting sites are beautifully situated. Nice playground for the kids. No pool but there are beach privileges at the Sandy Point Beach. Bring your bikes and hiking gear as the trails on the property are the best!!! We camped at Melville Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Bayley's Camping Resort, Scarborough, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Very expensive for just a few (7) cable stations. Several sites had motorcycles parked right on their site however, we were told we couldn't do it when I made the reservations last spring. I asked management about it and they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know why one of the staff allowed these others on the site. In my opinion, the rules apply to everyone, all the time. No exceptions. Food in the restaurant was quite expensive and the staff at night were sullen and grumpy. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, clean, quiet! Nicely landscaped, grounds were well taken care of. No planned activities for kids, but for us older folks it was pure heaven. Very tranquil. I would have rated it a 10 but they didn't have a pool. We camped at Aces High RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seaport RV Resort, Old Mystic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great place! Pool was clean and refreshing even after all the heat we've had. The kids were kept busy all day with activities provided by the staff. They are very strict about driving too fast in the campground. Upon check-in, you are told that you cannot drive faster than someone can walk. Well, a couple people thought the rule wasn't for them and attempted to race down the road. Staff went after them and told them to knock it off. There were so many little ones on their bicycles that it was refreshing to see management take a hard line regarding the speed limit. We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Prospect Mountain Campground, Granville, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The roads to the campground are full of potholes. Tree branches need trimming as they scrape your unit's roof and sides. We were promised W/E/S but when we arrived they only had W/E available even though we made a reservation and paid in advance. Lots of seasonals. Not our favorite place. We camped at Prospect Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean, quiet, huge sites! Best of all there were no golf carts. Very few programs for kids so it remained quiet and peaceful. Wonderfull pull through sites with plenty of room for everything. They are even motorcycle friendly. There were 3 motorcycles near us and we never even heard them go out or come back in. I did use the rest room a few times and found it to be clean. We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Absolutely wonderful! Pleasant, cheerful staff, clean restrooms, quiet and best of all no golf carts. Your trash is picked up all day long, just leave it at the end of your site. Cute camping cabins. Coldbrook Resort & Campground, Barre, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $34.00

Let me start by saying that if you had more than 4 teeth in your mouth you were definitely not going to like it here. It is over run by seasonals who have old, rusty, broken down MH's and "park models" that have been added to. The lean-to's with blue tarp all over them. Saturday morning brought one of the park drunks out of his unit hollering that he was now on vacation and could drink for entire week without stopping. Looked to me like he had done that before. Many folks had added "decks" to the side of their units and the decks all held the old fashioned 4 foot stereo speakers that were constantly blaring Conway Twitty, The Oakridge Boys and Whalen Jennings. Now, I'm a fan of music but this was too much. We complained to the management but they did nothing. Dogs were allowed to roam where they wanted. One of the worst experiences we have ever had!! Stay Away!! We camped at Coldbrook Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.
