Kan-Do Campground & RV Park, Montgomery City, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a more rustic park. We have stayed at this park before and returned once again over Memorial Day weekend. The office is large and the staff friendly and helpful at check-in. The office includes a store with items you may need as well as very cute crafty items. There is also a book exchange. There is a pool and a playground and new this year--in fact just finished before we arrived--a fenced dog park! The spaces are long and can accommodate a big rig with toad and extra vehicle. The owners obviously like to garden and it shows throughout the park. There are a lot of shady spaces along with some open ones for those that prefer open sites. The restrooms had not opened yet for the year when we were there, but the ones by the office were open. Those are older and in need of a renovation but are clean and hot. Overall, a nice stay. Will be back again. We camped at Kan-Do Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We called in at the last minute and stayed here in our 30' travel trailer when the winds became so high that we could not continue to travel safely. The office is clean and bright with very friendly staff who escort you to your site help you park. Our site was a pull-through but had no trees. There were other sites that did have trees, however. Roads and sites are gravel and pretty level. There was plenty of space between the sites. The cable was welcome after fighting the wind all day. We didn't use the Internet. We did use the nice fenced pet park. The roads and spaces were impeccably clean and well maintained with clean white rocks. There was some construction on several of the sites while we were there. We did not use the showers, pool or other amenities while there, but overall the campground was great! A little pricey. We would stay there again though. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Hwy 71 RV Park, Cedar Creek, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects monthly rate. Electric is additional to that fee. They have propane on site during office hours. We arrived May 1, 2013 and stayed for a little over a year while working in the area. The staff was professional and the park was clean. The park is gated and you need a code to access the campground most hours. They do not escort you to your site but do give you a good map showing which way to drive. The roads are crumbling asphalt and gravel. Sites were gravel and level (in the longer term area) and pull-throughs were long enough to accommodate our 40 ft 5th wheel plus 2 vehicles easily. (The sites in the overnight area are also level and do need to be leveled front to back and side to side and can be a bit tight for the larger rigs but the staff is good about placing campers in the right size space, which is a plus.) There are a mixture of open and shaded spaces. There is a nice amount of space between the campers, especially in the longer term area. The park is pet friendly and kid friendly with a playground for the kiddos. The restrooms are clean and very nice. The salt water pool was sparkling. There is a rec room which is available for a fee for gatherings. The laundry room is open 24 hours with a door code. There are 5 washers and 5 dryers that each have their own personality when it comes to how well they wash or dry, and an area in the office while you are waiting during office hours with a book exchange. After hours, there are a couple of dining type chairs to use or sit in the car or walk around. At the time that we stayed there, they provided curb side trash service 1 day per week, which was nice. We felt safe in the park and didn't have any problems with other residents. Good for one night or a year! We would stay there again. We camped at Hwy 71 RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kan-Do Campground & RV Park, Montgomery City, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived September and left October. We stayed in lots 1 and 34. We have a 40-footer using 50 amp service with full hookups. Lot 1 was cement and very level. We agreed to change lots when another camper came in that was staying for 4 years and for whom this lot was better suited with multi-level cement areas and flower beds. Lot 34 was a gravel pull through which was level and just fine. All lots have picnic tables and burn rings. The owners were very helpful to us and very nice and accommodating. They plan family events for the campers and have a nice little store area for essentials. Just before we left, they were planning to offer homemade muffins and to-die-for cinnamon rolls at the store. It is very dog friendly which is important to us. The Wi-Fi works well and has an excellent signal. The campground is easy to locate from I-70 Danville Exit and is quiet and has nice grounds including trails through the woods for hiking and enjoying nature. The swimming pool was closed for the winter as the weather was cool while we were there, so I didn't use the pool. We did not use the bathrooms, showers or laundry facilities while here, though they do have them. We would definitely stay here again and in fact do plan to stay again when going through the area in April 2010. We camped at Kan-Do Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
