The Barstow Calico KOA in Yermo, CA is a nice place to stay if you are passing through this area. It's only 3 miles away from the Ghost Town of Calico (which I didn't have time to see), is easily accessible from Highway 15, and is located near several cute diners. We ate at Peggy Sue's Nifty 50's Diner while here and liked it a lot. There's a pool to swim in and you get a lovely view out your window of the Calico Mountains to the North. The pull-through site we got had plenty of room for our 33' RV with both slides out and our tow vehicle as well. Easy drive in and out. Fairly level dirt site. Dog walk area available. Helpful staff at the registration office. Wi-Fi worked just fine. Shower rooms leave a little to be desired. (They were a little small and cold because there was no heater. The water didn't get that hot and the pressure was kind of low but still did the job.) They were clean at least. Even though the park is right off of the frontage road of I-15 it was still nice and quiet. Lots of big trees to absorb road noise. The park was fine and I would stay again if in Barstow/Calico area in the future.

Boulder Oaks RV Resort (formerly "Red Mountain" RV Resort) is an excellent place to stay in Boulder City, NV. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though it was only for 1 night. The husband and wife staff that work at the office were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area attractions. Not only did he escort us to our site, he helped unhook our tow dolly and helped direct us while backing in. Sites are paved, level, wide, and all have lovely and unique plants and landscaping beside them. The view of Lake Mead was lovely, too. We made use of the very nice whirlpool and pool area and saw that there was even a dry sauna there as well. The bathrooms and showers were well-cleaned and had both hot water and good pressure. The resort was at first tricky to find, but after calling for better directions we found it just fine. (And we're glad we did!) The park is located off of a small side road 2 turns away from the main road that goes through Boulder City and is also surrounded by a brick wall, thus making it a very quiet and peaceful park. Another plus is that the park is only 7 miles away from Hoover Dam. You can even ride your bike from here into the foothills of the mountain or into the town square of Boulder City. Enjoyed our short stay very much and would most definitely stay again. I highly recommend this park if you are visiting nearby Las Vegas or Hoover Dam.

This was one of the best (if not the best) RV parks we have stayed in yet! The resort is pretty new, so the facilities are in very good shape. There was plenty of space at our pull-through site for a 33' long motorhome with 2 slides plus a tow car. We were helped by a very friendly staff at the office. The supply store/gift shop is well stocked with all sorts of items. There's even a full service restaurant attached to the office building. Menu looks great (though we only had breakfast, the biscuits & gravy were good). They even offer a daily happy hour with reduced price appetizers & drinks. There is even a spa, a massage parlor, and a putting green if you want! Internet cafe is nice as well. Bathrooms were sparkling clean with nice hot water and good pressure. Whirlpool is nice as well as the pool. There is a dog walk area here, too. The resort is located along a main road (not an interstate highway) so a little car and road noise can be heard. This was the only reason I gave a 9 rating and not a perfect 10. But this place is as close to perfect as I've seen. Camping World is located across the street and there are a number of good restaurants nearby. I highly recommend Bakersfield RV Resort and would stay here again in a heartbeat next time I'm in town.
