Really happy here. CG is very well maintained and looks very nice. Staff could not be better. Sites are a little close but no more than most KOA's. Very convenient to Jacksonville and Lejeune. Lot's of grassed areas to walk dogs away from others. Very quiet even though US 17 is right out front. WiFi was very good. They have cable but we did not use it. Some treed sites...many open sites. One gripe (and it happens in many CG's it seems): it is, maybe 1/3rd occupied yet they parked 3 of us right next to each other. Awnings almost touching. They could have at least left 1 site between each. They could have left 4 sites between each and had space to spare. Luckily, neighbors on both sides were great. Great cg! We'll be back many times.

Fantastic. I've paid much more at other CG's and got a lot less. Agree with the other posts. The upper area is very nice and well landscaped. There are a zillion sites spread throughout the fairgrounds but most stay in this area, above the horse park. Excellent wifi. Very quiet park. They water sprayed the roads several times a day so dust was not a problem. Security officers are very friendly and helpful. One told me that direction signs are finally being made and will be installed soon. He also said there will be a check-in building constructed.

Agree with the June 2014 reviews. We Love this CG! In our top 5. We could stay at the nearby Army CG for half the price but we will stay here. What a great setting so close to Savannah (about 10 minutes). Great places to walk the dogs or stroll on your own. Wonderful grass everywhere. Scenic paths. Beautiful lakes. Very nice community center. In the middle of the main area is a garden that is currently full of pumpkins. This is definitely a farm CG. Electric and water was solid the whole time. A couple of the sites are ridiculously close. Ours was fine as were most...at least as good as most KOA's. The CG complies with the tradition that CG's be near a rail line (joke). It is not used much and a non issue for us. From our site, 6, we could get wifi but I have a roof antenna. They tell you it is only avail in the office. It was great at the site most of the time but did bog down on a couple of days. I had reserved for a period but the day before arrival we decided we wanted to delay arrival. I expected a deposit forfeiture but they said no problem and shifted our dates.

Agree with the earlier reviews. A very nice park. Paved roads and parking. Cement patio with table and grill. Beautiful views of the lake. Sites can be difficult to back into without getting on the grass, since they are 90 degrees to the road. There was no one here when we arrived and only 1 other rig showed up. Never saw any Park Rangers or security of any kind, and nothing happened. Placed the form and a check in the tube by the entrance. Note to the management: it is hard to find this CG on this site. It doesn't show up on the map and is really no where near Everglades City. I came by here years ago and knew it was here but struggled to find it. GPS says it is at 52388-54004 Tamiami Trail, Ochopee Fl, 34141. 25.85089, -80.99015.

Great park. Owners have spent a lot of money to create a beautiful park in what was a field. Very modern everything. Nice snack bar. Other reviewers have summed it up well. Rate is Good Sam.

Outstanding in every way. Not a single issue. I knew it was going to be great when I met Rocky, the Campground Dog, sitting at the check-in table. I have stayed at "Coach Resorts". This beats them all yet is for tent campers to Prevosts. Beautiful, manicured grass everywhere. Owners and staff constantly tending the grounds and taking care of guests. VERY friendly and helpful. Attention to the smallest of details yet unobtrusive...you don't feel like you are being watched for infractions. Dog park is manicured with a holder for campground-supplied toys. Nice dog bowl always full of fresh water. Seasonal rigs are spotless and the owners very hospitable. Quiet! Very pet friendly yet heard no dogs and no poop anywhere. Very nice and expensive gas BBQs placed throughout the park for guest use. Nice fire rings with grill on every site. Huge gathering/meeting room in the office. Excellent free Wi-Fi. Very convenient to Kennebunkport. I could go on but you get the picture. This is the best campground we have ever stayed in.

Agree with the others and won't repeat the observations. A very nice park that is cared for by very attentive owners. They are very friendly and helpful. They are always working on the park. Grounds are extremely well taken care of. WiFi was very good. Solid Verizon 4G service. They just added 3 pull though sites and 2 back ins. Very quick access to lots of shopping in Hickory. They give a Military discount. Lots of big rigs throughout our 2 week stay. We like this park and will be back.

Rate is based on a weekly rate. Spotless baths and grounds. Superb Wi-Fi. Some sites are satellite friendly and they have cable. VERY dog friendly. Adults only (to avoid accidents between young ones and dogs). My first visit and will not be the last. A fantastic place if you love dogs. Several off leash areas including two that are for small dogs only. Includes a stream fed pond that pets and their slaves can swim in together. Most sites are very private. The owners are fantastic. They started this facility from scratch and there is a lot of love in it. They hold fantastic events and culinary classes taught by the chef owner who has worked in resorts all over the world. I loved the tapas class. They have dog training classes but none were on this week. There is not a thing I would change...and, no, I have no prior knowledge or affiliation with this park. I just love it.

The park is very nicely landscaped and maintained with a pool, mini golf, bike/cart/boat rentals and other game areas. Free Wi-Fi was excellent our entire 2 weeks. Free Cable TV (but we didn’t use it because we use satellite). Fantastic staff: every single staff member was friendly, helpful and professional. The park does abide by the rule that campgrounds has to be a near a railroad. Yes there are tracks across the road from the entrance. Some days there were none/very few and others they were frequent. If you hate trains, this park and the other campgrounds in this area are not for you. After the 1st day, we did not notice them. There are, effectively, 2 parts of this KOA: the front sections near the office and entrance; the E section on the lake. The front section is typical with not much space between rigs and no view. The E Section is a whole different story. Our 35’ MH fit fine and there were some fivers also. Small rigs and tents can find some very nice views. Sites are on a beautiful lake with lots of space. There are a lot of sites where you nose in with a lake view. There are 6 sites where you parallel park with the door side right on the lake and the other side overlooks a beautiful grassy area that is along the river/creek. You can hear the sound of the water. Kids and dogs play in the river/creek. People tube down the river/creek. Lot of people fish in the lake from their own patio (no license required). Trails lead around both lakes for a nice quiet, scenic stroll. The park is about 15 minutes from Asheville. There is a lot of shopping and restaurants available near the park. Ingles Grocery has a gas station that is wide open and very accessible to any RV (I didn’t notice if it had diesel). The gas here is also a few cents cheaper than the other stations. We’ll be back.

Agree with other comments. This is a National Park CG so the $11 rate is with the senior pass (I forget the name). As of last fall, this is now a Reservations CG...they only have 5 walk-in sites and these are hard to come by. Make reservations. And, to emphasize, there is no water or sewer on individual sites. Water spigots are available in many places and there is a dump station. The grounds look like they are manicured and the hosts are great.

Agree with the Oct 11 review completely. We've come here for 2 weeks at Christmas for the past 4 or 5 years and see some of the same rigs also visiting family. We've never had anything stolen or an incident of any kind. Office staff is great. We used to stay at the one on I-95 but the price was absurd and the staff rude. (That was 4 years ago. Price is still absurd. Don't know about the staff.) Much better value here and perfect as a base to visit family. There used to be some ugly, decrepit, full-time rigs but they have all been evicted in the last few months. For years there was a poor chap that wandered around all the time: harmless but would talk your ears off. He's been evicted also. Price is with the $5 lifetime Kosmo "membership." I had to check "no" to clean baths etc., because there are none. Wi-Fi is excellent. Big rig accessible gas station across from the CG. Propane available at the RV place behind the gas station.

We evacuated here from the Outer banks during Irene. We've been here before and always enjoyed it. It is great seeing how the couple has transformed the park from a run-down KOA. The lady was so very nice and e-mail responsive about accommodating our several changes in plans as we tracked the storm. The sites drain well (and we had a LOT of rain) and the owner rakes them like one would a gold sand trap. Wi-Fi is superb. Owners and staff are superb. Rate is a Good Sam 30 amp and no on site sewer hook up. It was close to another RV but no big deal. There are plenty of spacious sites. We like it and will be back, but not because of a hurricane, we hope.

Awesome. Very nice sites right on the river. First class hookups. Very quiet. Great office staff. Regular drive through by the park police. All this for $12!

VERY nice park. Beautiful grass everywhere; paved roads and camp sites; quiet; lots of privacy. Lots of trees but many sites can "see" a satellite. Verizon 3G full strength. The park's website is in error when it say turn on dirt road: all roads are nicely paved. As already noted, no water or sewer at the site but water fill ups are plentiful and there is a dump station. The only thing missing was a map of the park that indicates trails etc. None posted or available that we could find. We'll be back.

The CG is near Ochopee which is also very close to Everglades City. The City is a quaint town and we've enjoyed going along the river banks and trying the restaurants. Air boat rides etc., in town but the CG says the Indian operators are better and cheaper. It's a "quaint" CG but we like it. If you're in for pristine KOA style, nah. But it is clean, has some permanents, but all the folks and management have been super. The glades are right out the window, there are a couple of small lakes on the grounds and we saw a small alligator in one. They have a reptile exhibit that is nicely done: the caretaker is very informative. It's April 14 and no bugs. Has good WiFi; 30 amp with water; and there is a dump station on premises. $27 so it's more expensive that the gov't places, but I've got a thing about helping small businesses. BTW, in Eliz City there is a new "Motor Coach Resort" with a cost over $100 in the off season.
