Point South / Yemassee KOA, Yemassee, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with the Feb 07 rating and comments. We stayed here twice this month to/from FL and several times in year's past. It is a good enroute campground and it's easy access to 95 yet quiet. The staff was very friendly in all visits. The campground is very pet friendly with great area to walk them. It had excellent cable and good free wifi coverage. We love the Pizza made fresh in the office. They've just started a coffee bar. We'll be back. We camped at Point South / Yemassee KOA in a Motorhome.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This nice campground has a very nice staff. It is very quiet yet convenient to 95. They go out of their way to be helpful and keep the park very nice. We've stayed before and will stay again. A note: The name of the campground is Smithfield KOA and the physical location is Four Oaks NC (per the receipt). Selma is about 5 miles further north. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed it. It is tight but we had no problem in a 35 MH and there were rigs bigger than ours. Beautiful setting in the woods on the side of a mountain. We had no trouble leveling and didn't see anyone else with a problem. Wi-Fi is not free. Cable is not on all sites. Staff very friendly. We'd come back if we pass this way again. We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Motorhome.

Texas Route 66 RV Park (formerly West 40 RV Park), Shamrock, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We liked it here. It is not a destination CG but a great overnighter. Sitting outside with a sarsparilla watching the sun go down over the prairie was great. The owners could not be more nice. Ernest Borgnine stayed here for a moth while filing a movie! We camped at Texas Route 66 RV Park (formerly West 40 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Lake Myers RV Resort, Mocksville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This time of the year the pools etc were closed. This is mainly a permanent resident park but the sites are kept very nice. Was told that management has just changed again and that the staff expects for things to get better. We liked it even though we were just an overnighter. We camped at Lake Myers RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Dardanelle State Park, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with the earlier post: very nice park. The only thing to be careful of is that many of the sites are not anywhere near level. We had the jacks blocked and fully extended (front wheels off the ground), and we were still bow down. We camped at Lake Dardanelle State Park in a Motorhome.

South Forty Campground, Petersburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with Jul 06 post. We also could not get a sewer site even though the park was not crowded. People are very nice. Thought it was over priced for its current state (KOA price but not the KOA quality). No wifi, a dial up connection is in the office. Sites were gravel at one time but most of it is gone now so may be muddy in rain...there is a lot of grass between sites. Our restaurant experience wasn't as good but that is because there was not enough staff and the one waitress was pulled everywhere. We camped at South Forty Campground in a Motorhome.

White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort, Stella, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Agree with the other poster. Since this is a new CG, the facilities, hookups, etc., are first class. We wish our home had the beautiful grass area that they have here…it looks like a golf course on all sites. The staff is very nice. They have first class cable TV, electric, water, sewer, site tables, paved roads, store, and a very nice pool complex. But, to be a complete review, we need to point out some other things. The park really caters to permanent/yearly rentals, not traditional day or weekly. Probably only a third of the sites are designated for transients, if that. There is a river here, but it is hard (impossible?) to see from the transient sites. There are no fire rings or BBQ grills. They have great wifi on Roadrunner cable but it isn’t free. They tend to be hesitant to admit this. I asked several times about paying for it when we registered but the conversation was evaded…when you hook up to wifi, it shows that it is $9.95/day, on top of a $35 site fee. They need to be more forthcoming about this. The other thing is that there is not a tree in sight! This is one huge open field. Satellite TV RV’ers, will love it. We camped at White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Concur with the other comments. This is a GREAT place...we'll go back a lot! You can get some very wonderful waterfront sites if you can do without hookups. Staff there told us that it is hard to get into during the summer. We camped at North Bend Park COE in a Motorhome.

Camp Gulf, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2006 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here and are surprised at earlier negative comments re staff. Every single staff member we encountered was fantastic. We were near the beach (could not stay beach front because we have dogs). Yes, the sites are close. Yes, the sites are sandy (as one usually finds on the beach). Utilities were great. There were a number of kids and they seemed to be having great fun. The only negative we had was that the free wifi was acting up (they know this and may change providers). We'll be back. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

VERY nice CG. Very well maintained. Even has fitness room that would rival a Sheraton! We loved the fenced pet park where the dogs could roam without a leash and do their business. Park even provides a scooper and bags! Our site was nicely shaded and I'm entering this review via their free wifi. Pool was Very nice! Very nice folks operating the CG. We'll be back. PS: we stayed at the other park near here, very nice people also but does not compare with here... EXTRA $10 worth it. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
