Site are large with lots of room for kids to run around. Nice hiking trails that go from grass prairies to woods to marshes. Lots of birds, especially waterfowl. The trails could use more maintenance. There are several places with benches to overlook the lake, but trees have grown and blocked the view. There is a "Waterfowl Observation Blind" overlooking a march about 100 yards off the main trail that is rotting away and tree growth has blocked the view. Expect lots of bugs if you hike by the marshes.

Very rustic campground. No hookups at the sites and water is from a hand pump. Sites are small and designed for tents, but several can handle a tent trailer or small travel trailer. There are hiking trails in the park and a small playground, but that is about it. Whitewater State Park is about 10 miles from here, and there is quite a lot there. Overall, it is nice campground if you are passing thru the area and need a place for the night, and a very nice campground if you just want to get away from things for a weekend. Not too good if you are looking for a campground for longer than weekend.

Campground is on the Zumbro River. Had a site along the river. Lots of activities for the kids. On the negative side, the road at our campsite was mud. Almost got stuck on the way in. "Rent-A-Jon?s" scattered throughout the campground, but they were not cleaned out at all during the weekend. Smelled pretty bad by Sunday afternoon. Might be OK on a regular weekend, but not a holiday weekend.
