We were evacuated from New Orleans for Hurricane Isaac. We were concerned about getting far enough away from the storm and yet getting a safe location. When we drove in we knew we were going to be OK. The park is very clean, manicured grounds and very clean store, laundry room and bath houses. The pool has been closed and will not reopen. A wonderful and large selection of RV parts. We actually found some items that we had been looking for. They have a key section where we also had our keys duplicated. A very busy service department. Strong wireless and cable TV was clear. We now know where to run to when Mother Nature throws us another storm.

We were given information on this park in Shreveport. We were going to stay at the "So-Called Resort down town until we saw it. We elected to take a chance on this place and we are really glad we did. Now it is a bit further from the French Quarter but it is very quiet and peaceful. The elevated bar is nice to sit and relax. The staff was very nice, they do have pizza, wings and thing like that. Everything worked great. No Interstate noise, no sirens and we payed half the price as the RESORT! They do offer a shuttle but there is a charge of $5.00 per person each way. We elected to take our tow, no problem finding parking. When we are in the area this is where we will stay. By the way our traveling buddys stayed at the resort, guess what? The had a terrible night! Go figure.

We rarely stay at KOA's due to the price and reputation. Unfortunately there are not many options in the Baton Rouge area. The sites are very tight, if someone would have been next to us with slide outs we may have touched. The staff was nice, we spoke to a couple of work campers and they shared some interesting things about this park. The site was level and the power was OK. It is OK for a one or two day stay. Not sure if we would come back or not.

We just spent the past 9 days here and it was wonderful! As always the owners make you feel as if you are family in every way. The park looks great, everything worked perfectly, (Cable TV and very fast internet). Our site was great, large enough to have our awnings out and extra chairs. The 24 hour Fitness Center is amazing! Our dogs love the large dog parks (2), even at night with the lighting system. The pool is crystal clear and the grounds are very well groomed. They have recently expanded the RV Parts section, it is by far the largest we have seen at any park or dealership. They actually had a breaker that I have been looking for and could not find anywhere. Great job! We always look forward to coming here. The park was full and everyone we talked with had wonderful things to say about the park. Especially the new Giant Pelican. Great job all, see you when we come through again!!

To begin we have been here before and were very disappointed! We were told that a new owner and managers had taken over so we decided to try it again. Our Children live close to the park and it would be nice to be close to them. The new road entering the park is great, but as soon as you crest the top of the levee it quickly changes. The internal roads are terrible, there are a number of very old campers that actually look abandoned with papers taped to the doors. The rigs that are lived in are in terrible condition with piles of junk around them. There was even washer/dryer combination unit outside to the trailers. The laundry room is clean but in very bad condition as well as the bathrooms. The sites have deep ruts from previous RVs getting stuck and sinking. The new managers are nice but have no clue on RVing or what it takes to run a park! The so called NEW wifi was very weak and extremely slow (snail mail would have been faster)! It appears they took a system that belongs in a single home and tried to apply it to the park. It was quiet but the electric voltage was between 108 to 110, too low for our rig. We will stay elsewhere even if we are further away from our kids. This is more of a run down long term hole in the mud than a RV Park. We have said it before but this time we will never return!

We drove 140 miles out of our way to stay here again, and it was even better than the times before! The area had just experienced a major Ice and Snow storm but yet the park looked great. From the moment you enter you feel as if you are home. Our site was level, all of the utilities were excellent, the wireless was five bar strong and fast. Once the entrance road is done this place will be beyond the scores allowed. We travel year around and this is the top park of our list!!

We have been here before. The last two times we have noticed a drastic change in the park. The staff are very negative and the park itself is in bad condition. We rarely stay at KOA's, but this had been pretty nice in the past. The site was very rough, the wireless was not working at the time. Power appeared to be ok but it was 36 degrees out so no real power source was used. Both my wife and I got the feeling that the staff didn't care! We asked if the restaurant across the street was still open and they said "Don't know, check it out for yourself!" Then we asked about Bishop Castle and if it was open. They told me, "Do I look like the Bishop Castle Guide?" We wanted to stay in the area at least through the week but decided to leave the next day. This place has become a typical KOA, over priced, couldn't care less about the guests and run down! We will not be back and we have sent a blog to FMCA regarding our visit.

The previous review must be from either the owner or employee! This is a DUMP if I have ever seen one. The only rigs there are very old and run down. The RV sitting in front of the office has been there so long that the awning is out and there is no fabric, only the frame. All of the RVs are covered with moss and green slime. This is a shot out of Deliverance! In front of the office there are bottles of beer and cigarette butts everywhere. One of the guests we spoke with told me the owners hang out there. The sites are not level, the electrical plugs are worn and low voltage. BEWARE of this park (DUMP).

This is by far the worst place we have been. Several months ago we passed through here and stayed, we should have learned the first time. We wanted to enjoy the Red River Festival, everyone else was full so we were stuck; my fault. Not a level site in the park, full of long term RV workers that do not care what their rigs look like. There are weeds growing everywhere that a are 2' tall. Nothing but gravel that has washed into the road area. Between the road noise and the train passing by it is terrible! As for the last review that said the staff was friendly, I would question where that review came from. They are rude and have no idea how to run an RV park. The voltage was very low, less than 108 with one A/C on. No cable, no Wi-Fi, the pool was closed (I would not get into that thing anyhow!). We made the mistake once, just needed a place to sleep, went against my better judgment. TERRIBLE!!

We were here for the FMCA Rally and we really enjoyed ourselves. There were several big rigs with us and everyone was very impressed with the entire park. The wireless was strong, no problems with cable TV or electric. The road to the parks under construction so it was a little difficult exiting. At night the park was very quiet. The sites are concrete and level, they will bring you a step/deck for your rig if the bus step are too high. The staff was very nice. We have been here several times in the past and the owners are always very helpful and nice!

Typical Old KOA, but I have to say it was very clean! We normally pass right by KOA's (been burnt too many times) but when we called we talked to a wonderful hostess. I am glad we stayed here. The site was level, cable TV for a price, and Wi Fi was ok. The bathrooms were old but very well taken care of. A lot of work campers were present and everyone was very nice. This is a great place for kids, has a nice pool, and mini golf.

I stayed here a few months, this is the third time staying here. The last visit I was concerned about the electrical. This time I brought a good digital meter and the power was just fine. I was the only rig in the park so it was very quiet. The site was level, I was able to get good satellite signal. Staff was very nice. The last morning here I made my coffee and stepped outside to find 30 beautiful horses grazing in the pasture next to my site. I stayed in a park east of here in August and the place made me feel as if I was in a Secure Lockdown area. Now you can spend 40 to 50 dollars a night in one of the more popular parks, but if you are looking for peace and serenity this can not be beat. There are two very important things to know. Do not enter from the Brightside Street directions, there is major construction in the area. Take the first exit off of the bridge, then the first right turn. Follow that to the first left (One way) to River Road. Turn left and follow it about 6 miles. Pay very close attention to the turn, if you miss it good luck getting turned around. You will come up on a gated community on the left and a dirt road on the right leading up the banks of the Mississippi river. You will see the sign on the left, that is where you turn in. There is a very nice Win Dixie about 3.5 miles from the park if you need groceries.

I can not believe that Good Sam has approved this dump as a Good Sam Park. They have packed long term works in so bad that they now have them in a field even closer to the interstate. When is enough a enough people? I asked the manager why don't they just become a Trailer park, stop advertising in the "RV" Traveling books, and she stated "we need to make a buck when we can". This is not Good! Now to the site. It was level, the power was weak, no Wi-Fi or cable. There is a train that is VERY close and the road noise from interstate 20 at night is terrible. There is a Truck Stop right next to the park so there is noise and movement all night long. The sites are tight and not big rig friendly. Again, my question is why is Good Sam allowing this park to operate this under the Good Sam Logo? There are NO Amenities what so ever!

Date of Stay:

Not really sure where the 15. and 16. dollar amounts came from in the other reviews. It was $38. plus local tax. For the amount they charge you do not get any type of amenities. The wireless was very weak, the electrical was at 109 vac with one A/C on. No cable TV and very limited over the air channels. The staff was very stuffy and somewhat over bearing. The location is in the middle of no where. You must drive several miles to find any tip of store or food establishment. The enclosed fence area made us feel as if we were locked in all the time. The park is primarily long term people, a few travelers were here over the holiday. We would not stay here again and we tweeted other FMCA Members about the park.

I also would like to rate this park higher but I just can't do it. The Power was very low when both A/C's were on so we were restricted to just one, we shut down the water heater and any other 110 power items and was not able to reach 108 VAC. There are no trees at all in the RV area. You can tell the owners have worked their tail off on this place but there are some things that can not be achieved. The wireless was strong, the pool was clean. Counting our rig there were only three other people and I think they were long term guests. The owner will talk your leg off, very nice man!
