Bass Haven Campground, Defuniak Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

I wish there was a way that I could add a picture to this review because it is so beautiful here. This evening I sat outside on the dock near my campsite listening to the crickets and the frogs welcome in the night. The picturesque view of the lake shown pink and purple as the sun set, and as the light faded the stars began to twinkle. An occasional dog barking or child playing echoed with the night sounds, but the peace and serenity of this tiny little campground has made it one of my favorite stops. The campground itself sits on the edge of the lakefront and our site was spacious and easy to get into. Lola, the owner of the campground, was super sweet and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this little gem and hope we can come back again someday. We camped at Bass Haven Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is just outside of DeFuniak Springs, but make sure to unhook and take a drive into town! I hadn't expected much from this village as most of the homes on the outskirts are small ranch houses or trailers, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were quite a few historic houses and an adorable little downtown. With families out biking, children playing, and friendly people everywhere I went, I felt like I had stepped back into a 1950's neighborhood.

Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store, Bainbridge, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on a poolside site here in early summer and had a great time! Our site was spacious and level. My boys really enjoyed the tie dye, fishing off the dock, the ice cream socials and all the other activities. The pool looked like it was recently painted and had nice new pool chairs. Both bathhouses were clean, and the new bathhouse located by the pool was absolutely gorgeous! We would definitely return! We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

Bay Aire RV Park, Palm Harbor, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What nice people!! The owners/staff of the park were helpful and friendly, but we really enjoyed meeting many of the nice residents of the park as well. Many primarily seasonal campgrounds tend not to welcome overnighters, but we did not find this to be the case here! Nice pool, good site, gated entrance. A bit tight but not too bad We camped at Bay Aire RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Asheville West KOA, Candler, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We had originally only planned to stay for 2 nights at this campground, but with the beauty of the area and all the fun things to do locally, the niceness of the campground, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and owners, we extended our stay to 4 days. Even though you are only minutes from the highway, this campground has hiking trails, trees, and mountain beauty, but also includes all the modern amenities like level sites, cable TV, Wi-Fi, store, laundry, and more. A great place, with great people! We camped at Asheville West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The worst camping experience of my life! Rude owners, run down park, disgusting pool, most unfriendly place we've ever been and we have camped in 100's of places! We camped at Parkway Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
