Sandpiper RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful gem of a park! While not "waterfront" that is only because it is separated from the water by a hundred yards of beach! Immaculate grounds, all concrete pads and roadways, fantastic pool, fire pit and spa. Very close to Galveston's amenities. Will definitely stay here the next time I am in town! Two levels to the park: Ask to stay on the lower level! Upper level is right on the road. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with very friendly staff. Price includes 10% Active Duty Military discount plus all taxes. The only problem we had was connecting to the Tengo Internet wireless system. Got a good signal, but my computer wouldn't connect. My Verizon wireless hot-spot worked perfectly though. Large dog park, swingsets for kids, nice large sites with grass between each site. The pull through site that we had was about 65 feet long! Plenty of room for our 40' MH plus towed dinghy. This is our first trip to Austin, but we will definitely stay here again in the future! We camped at La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest RV Parks I have ever stayed in! Beautiful sites, lots of trees, only minutes from the South Rim and Market Village. El Centro Palm Oasis FamCamp (Military FamCamp), El Centro Navy Air Facility, California

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Military only (Active, Retired, Reserve, DAV). Dry and dusty most of the time which is an improvement over when it rains and the world turns to mud. Normal base amenities available (Navy exchange, Commissary, Movie Theater, etc. Located about 10 miles from downtown El Centro. Most sites are back-in and although our site was supposed to have 50 Amp service, only the 30 Amp would work. Not bad for an overnight (I stayed here twice going into and out of San Diego), but wouldn't want to spend much time here. We camped at El Centro Palm Oasis FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Lordsburg KOA, Lordsburg, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, great for an overnight stay, but a little convoluted to get to once you leave the interstate. Follow the signs and no problem, follow your GPS and you'll get lost! We camped at Lordsburg KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this park! Nothing special, but friendly people, flat ground and right off the interstate! the arrows were a nice perk! Felt like we were under attack, but not really! I will definitely stay here again. A great stopping place between El Paso and San Antonio! We camped at Comanche Land RV Park (closed) in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg, Texas KOA, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent, well-maintained park! Staff was fantastic. Live music on Saturday night. I was downtown in Fredericksburg when the wind kicked up and threatened my awning. The park called me on my cell to let me know the problem and probably saved my awning. Strategically placed sun shades protect exposed RVs from the direct afternoon sun. I will definitely stay here again! We camped at Fredericksburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

JBSA Fort Sam Houston RV Park (Military FamCamp), Fort Sam Houston Army Post, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Very nicely maintained park with large, concrete pads with adjoining picnic tables on large concrete pads. Paved roadways with easy access for the largest rigs. Friendly staff with 24 hour on-site hosts. If you like the sound of trains, welcome to San Antonio! Nearby tracks (couple of hundred yards away) have frequent train traffic with grade crossings that lead to whistle calls frequently. High water pressure. Need a regulator! Price was based on one month stay ($334/month). We camped at JBSA Fort Sam Houston RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground located almost across the street from Graceland. Very well kept and clean. Has small pull through sites: long enough, but not very wide. Hookups were so close to the site that I had to adjust the location of the MH to allow my slide to open without hitting the electric panel. Lots going on as it was the beginning of Elvis Week. (I think he was a singer or something that lived here in Memphis. Ha!) We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It is still recovering from the Nashville flood that significantly impacted this camp. However, this campground has made huge strides to recover! Pool is up and running, several construction sites throughout the camp, but the nearly 50% discount on the nightly charges made the slight inconveniences of the construction almost unnoticeable! We stayed here for one night while traveling through. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Anvil Campground, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground nestled between a busy road and an active train track. Other than road noise and the occasional train, camp was very quite. Nice playgrounds for kids. Store and office have limited hours during the winter with a sign on the door with phone numbers to call if you need help. Pull-through sites were shut-down due to the cold weather, but the back-in site we were provided was easy enough to access and park. Our site was reasonably flat, however, several of the sites in the park have significant slopes. Wi-Fi worked well. We camped at Anvil Campground in a Motorhome.
