New Glasgow Highlands, New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We had a beautiful shaded level site. The campground is in a convenient setting for seeing all parts of the island. The owners are delightful and helpful. We could not have had a nicer stay (we were there for one week).
There are only three TV stations by antenna, and Wi-Fi was iffy, patience required. Unfortunately our hot spot didn't work in Canada. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Moonshine Creek Campground, Balsam, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Wooded rustic campground, elevation 3200 feet. Warm days and cool nights, no air conditioning necessary. Beautiful remodel of bath house and laundry (ceramic and glass tiles, granite countertops, upscale fixtures and lighting, brand new commercial washers and dryers). The remodel is 5 star! Also, 2 benches have been placed in the creek with step stones to reach them. You can sit on the bench and dangle your feet in the creek - your moment of zen. Nice touch. Campsites are mostly level, have stone surrounded fire pits. Wi-Fi available on the porch of the office, cable provides 13 channels. We've been coming here many years and will continue to patronize this campground. Very friendly owners and workkampers keep the place a fun, family friendly, pet friendly (bring your plastic bags to pick up after your pet) campground. We camped at Moonshine Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Waynesville (about 5 miles from Balsam) has delightful shops and restaurants, a farmers market two days a week, Barber Orchards for apples and baked goods, there is an auction on Friday and Saturday nights, 2 antique malls and the Blue Ridge Parkway for picnicking, berry picking and beautiful sights. Asheville is about 35 miles away with the Biltmore House to tour, a hop on hop off city bus tour, multiple museums and of course lots of places for shopping and eating.
