Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

It is a nice park, and well maintained. There are several long term residents but this is not a factor. The sites are not level and not as long as advertised, but adequate. The "dog runs" are not there and the areas designated are full of sand burrs and goat heads. You can't walk dogs there. There is a nice little cafe with good, reasonably priced food. We would stop again. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

It is a good park for short term stay with nice, helpful staff. The sites are gravel and pretty level, with good length. It appears to have had recent work on utilities, and they worked well. The showers need work-water dribbled out,and temperature fluctuated greatly (mens); temp fluctuated, and the valves were reversed (womens). It has a great little cafe-good food and reasonably priced. We would stop again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Broke Mill RV Park, Del Rio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

A great NEW RV Park. The owner has put a lot of thought into this park. He and his crew are striving to do things right. Being that is a new park (2nd year), the trees are not yet grown to offer shade, but are growing. The facilities are as good as they come. The owners are planning to keep adding and improving the park. We will be back and highly recommend it. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We like this park very much. The sites are roomy, the showers/rest rooms are clean and very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that are "stickers" in the area where one walks their dogs. However, They have a nice dog park, but again, there are stickers in spots. We enjoyed our stay and will probably return. If we return to the area, we will certainly stay here and have and will recommend it highly. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stampede RV Park, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for 1 week. Six weeks later, we finally left. The campground itself is not luxurious, but the people and the town make it hard to leave. The facilities are good and the breakfast cafe is outstanding. The owners and their staff are topnotch. If you like history and good people, this is a must stop. It is within walking distance of downtown Tombstone, where something is always happening. We are sure there is 1 grouch there, but we did not find them. The people make this place. We camped at Stampede RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Benson KOA, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older KOA. The sites are full of puncture vine and ant hills. After we had committed for a week, and paid, the owner mentioned the puncture vines. There are some small trees that give little shade. It has a nice dog walk but dogs get "goat heads" in their feet getting there. We were there a week and only 1 of 4 washers worked. It is a typical KOA. Anymore, they are either very nice and overpriced or run down and overpriced. The advertised big rig access is true but, barely. We will not return, nor can we recommend this park. We camped at Benson KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
