Ogston RV Park, Saginaw, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

No credit cards. Although they say they have Wi-Fi, it was a very poor signal. Bathrooms had dripping water & signs saying the floor was wet--no kidding! No Cable tv. Signs said to keep doors closed in the restrooms to keep out bugs. Only one garbage dumpster by the exit considering that it is a rather large park there should be more--it's a long hike and certainly not convenient. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

West 40 RV Park (CLOSED), Shamrock, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

No electrical outlets in restrooms nor did any of the doors lock (stall doors or the outside doors.) Cash or check only, no credit cards. Restrooms were clean but had very small showers. Driveway and roads were not paved. Some sites had picnic tables which didn't matter in January, but you might want one in the summer. This was good for an overnight stop, but not recommended for longer. We camped at West 40 RV Park (CLOSED) in a Motorhome.

Ancient Oaks RV Park & Campground, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old KOA park with some upgrades. The bathrooms have been refurbished with tile but the shower stalls are KOA "snug". Park was near full with what appear to be long stay sunbirds. As an overnighter, we got placed in the back of the park in the original section. The internal roads are paved, but the spaces in the old section are grass with many of them not particularly level. New section has concrete pads and seem roomier. Services are split with sewer on opposite side of water and power. Web speed was okay once you navigate Tengo system. Good selection of cable channels. We camped at Ancient Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Alderwood RV Express, Mead, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Mature landscaping but narrow pads (and we have a B!) Showers needed update and a sink didn't work in the men's room. Not one of the "top 10 resorts in the US" but still pretty good considering how few RV parks there are near Spokane. We camped at Alderwood RV Express in a Motorhome.

29 Palms Golf Resort, Twentynine Palms, California

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Restrooms had not been cleaned over the weekend: mud, mold, beer cans, were evident (there had been a "great" party per a resident). Garbage dump was at one end but we observed that garbage was picked up at the site as we were leaving: no one had told us! Dogs played on the tennis courts but signs said no dog could be on the dried up grass. Wi-Fi was non-existent even though they claimed Wi-Fi. Old sites have trees, new sites have none. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

OK for our needs (one night). The bathrooms were clean but basic. Had lots of hot water though. Laundry was really nice, clean with 4 washers and dryers $1.25 each. Excellent Wi-Fi. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maple Leaf RV Park, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $36.00

Very nice park, clean, lots of permanent residents but they were away from overnight rigs and clean (not the usual dumps!). Handy for Garlic Festival--about 10 miles away! We camped at Maple Leaf RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground, Buellton, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Ok but pricey, sites close together, only 3 showers stalls each (M & F) for 320 sites! Nothing else around and/or available due to the fair at Pasa Robles. Wi-Fi good but cable quality is poor. Everyone on staff was friendly & effective. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Sage Valley RV, Fallon, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $25.00

This park has very small bathroom toilet stalls. No soap or towels, a blow dryer only. We had no problem with the manager. This is just a basic overnight RV park. We camped at Sage Valley RV in a Motorhome.

Hazelmere RV Park & Campground, Surrey, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

WiFi was good but cost $2. Lots of traffic & kids but it quieted down at night. Convenient location--30 minutes to ferry for Vancouver Island and less than that to the US. We would stay again. We camped at Hazelmere RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort, Newport Beach, California

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We got in on a promo "best available" for $50 till end of March. For a so called "resort" facility left a lot to be desired. We travel in a Roadtrek so restroom and shower quality important--only give them a 3 for their effort. Facilities older and show little signs of maintenance. None of locks to restrooms worked in entire resort. Showers small and tacky. No hot water in restroom sinks. Location is what they have going for them and after that, have found far better at half the price. We camped at Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Main Street Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Can't beat this place for location and cost. It won't win any prizes for cleanliness but really wasn't bad. Local bus transportation is a block away and Freemont is close. It is very close to the highway but at least there were no trains going through! We camped at Main Street Casino in a Motorhome.

Longstreet Hotel Casino & RV Resort, Amargosa Valley, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park was on a dirt parking lot--very dusty. There were messy ducks near the pool and entry to the casino--where the showers are. You could have skated in! The showers were clean but the general overall property was "tired." It was very close to Death Valley. We camped at Longstreet Hotel Casino & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Scandia RV & Mobile Park, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Compared to other parks in Bend, this park provides a great choice. Stayed 4 nights while on business. Park always clean, garbage picked up, facilities top knotch. The "older" part is just as clean even though it obvious that some folks have been there a while. New, spacious restrooms and "huge" showers--always clean. All spots are paved. GREAT wireless the entire time (multple towers to choose from)and good cable menu We camped at Scandia RV & Mobile Park in a Motorhome.
