Pala Casino RV Resort, Pala, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new park built next to a casino. The sites are very spacious, with large grassy areas, and a picnic table. The pool is heated (not always the case in winter in California) and a good size for lap swimming or just kids' play. Bathrooms and public areas are spotless. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Laundry is a bit expensive ($3.75 a wash load) but that was the only criticism we had of the resort. We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lynden / Bellingham KOA, Lynden, Washington

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is in winter mode so washrooms and office are closed, but the manager was working on the property grounds. We had some battery/ electrical issues and mentioned the problem to him. He went out of his way to check our connections and then put his own charger on our battery for the afternoon. Later he brought a friend who diagnosed the problem. We really appreciated the personified service. We would definitely return to this campground, not only for the pleasant surroundings but especially because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the manager. We camped at Lynden / Bellingham KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oroville Feather Falls Casino KOA, Oroville, California

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, clean campground with friendly staff. The showers are private rooms, with heaters. Sites are paved and well-spaced, although a little short for parking a 32 ft. RV and a truck. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Oroville Feather Falls Casino KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Tower Park, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We had booked a reservation over the internet several days before, and arrived after dark when the office was closed. The entrance to the campground was difficult to find in the marina area, so I had to get out of the truck and walk the roads to avoid having the RV stuck in a dead end. There was no specific information waiting for us outside the office; instead, we found a campground map and a request to choose a pull-through campsite because the back-ins were muddy. That was O.K., since we were not planning to unhook. The site was passable, although the roads and the sites were littered with tree branches from recent tree pruning. The bathrooms were dirty and unheated, so we could not shower. One of the washing machines in the laundry was broken, and two of the dryers appeared to be wet inside. The machines were not very clean. I chose this KOA because it had received a President's Award in the past, but obviously, the campground had not been kept up. Perhaps standards were lower because it was off-season, but we felt the price was too high for the services offered. I complained about the unheated showers the next morning and the office reduced our $54.00 nightly fee to $44.00. We would not stay here again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Tower Park in a Fifth Wheel.
