Allatoona Landing Campground, Cartersville, Georgia

Nicest park in or around NW Atlanta area that we have found. Friendly management, very decent spots. Well maintained. We camped at Allatoona Landing Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Staff is friendly and helpful - no problem here. Facility is nice enough - not too dusty for unpaved roads; plenty of kids activities if you have them; close to town and bike trails; water pressure, and electric current good and stable. So, why not a higher rating? 1. Water sprinklers for grass areas are relatively uncontrolled - at least in the spots around our area. They leave mineral water on the cars, and RVs. 2. Policies regarding adult temporary visitors for a couple of hours/dinner seem oppressive. Can't understand why they should have to pay for access when they don't even use the facilities. Also disappointing is the fact they can't bring their small dog to visit. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We love this RV park for a variety of reasons - large RV sites, beautiful open spaces, PERFECT location for many of Mt Rushmore's area activities, and a friendly staff. Only negative we have experienced is the small and cramped laundry room. We would definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to our RVing friends. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A really nice park in a great location. All aspects of this park were nice. We would certainly choose this location on our next trip through the area. Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful views, reasonably close to town, great location for Rocky Mt. Nat park, plus friendly and helpful work staff. So, it would be hard to not love this park, except for the "invasion of the ground squirrels" and the poor condition of the roads. The roads can be blamed on short season / tough weather. The squirrels generally drive litte dogs crazy. We would come back, but hope that the invasion can be reversed somehow. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wells Fargo RV Park, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This park has outstanding access to the sites in town: a 1 minute walk to the OK Coral. Very cordial hosts; who were very helpful. For the area, we thought this was a perfect place to visit Tombstone. The only negative is that it is a little cramped for space; but for a short stay, it was perfect. We camped at Wells Fargo RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lost Alaskan RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Although a nice park, it is only slightly above average. We stayed a week, and enjoyed the stay. Overall it's about average for an RV park, but maybe the best in the area for facility and amenities. One complaint for our fellow travelers with dogs: there are stickers/sand-spurs in the grass area; so be careful to keep a sharp eye out for where your canine companions walk. This is our only negative. We camped at Lost Alaskan RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

After RVing through 40 states, this is our best experience of anywhere; and we have had some very nice ones over the past five years. This park has very nice facilities, with ownership understanding what it takes to be "world-class". We planned to stay two weeks, and ended-up staying 2 months. We will certainly come back to the Buckhorn on our next trip through Texas, because we have already made our reservations for next December. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed staying at the Vineyards. It's central location to the Metroplex makes it easy to tour the area; and the main street of Grapevine is nice to visit. Our only reason for not rating this park higher is that only a few sites have all hookups (sewer); and there is no cable TV, which makes satellite signal variable depending on the trees around your site. Some of the sites are not very level, but we all deal with that on occasion. We camped at The Vineyards in a Fifth Wheel.
