Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley, White Sulphur Springs, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

They are my home CG for C2C & RPI. First time back in 3 years. Even nicer than before. Wonderful Owners and work camper people. Ice cream outside when the mosquitoes are gone (they seem to leave in August). They have games in the game room once a week but the room is available daily for dominoes, cards (hand-foot, joker rummy, etc. Also, there are a couple places in town that host Texas Hold-em. The surrounding mountains are gorgeous and fun to drive (4-wheel not needed but recommended). Local restaurants are above average. I just wish I had found the area/CG 50 years ago. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Motorhome.

Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Best to say the park is 'rustic'. But it is inexpensive, and great for an overnight. I was surprised to see upscale rigs and almost no clunkers. I would stay here again. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicer RV parks we have visited. But, (isn't there always a but?) their internet is through Tengo which is, without a doubt, the poorest provider in the world. The prices are outlandish; the service is spotty or intermittent, the login instructions are hard to follow (especially if you have to change a credit card number. That drops my 10 rating to a 9 all by itself. We camped at Cochise Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Heber RV Park, Heber, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We came in a week after a serious car accident. Neither the wife or I were able to do much physical work. Keith, work camper, I think, immediately came over and did virtually all the set up chores including the sewer hose. He and his wife were so nice and gracious. Great WiFi and open for satellite reception. We plan to go back for a month later in the summer. We camped at Heber RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

While visiting here, we were involved in a serious car (toad) accident. My wife had a severe laceration on her scalp and had to spend overnight in the hospital. In addition, she has a cracked vertebra and is wearing a collar for the near future. As to me, I am rather crippled as is and only suffered bruises but when walking is difficult to begin with, any additional pain is nasty. In any event, the people here were more than helpful and the proprietor took me to the hospital to see the missus. I can't thank them enough. I will definitely return. BTW, the park is otherwise great, too. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Heartland Resort, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

I was told they had Wi-Fi. What I wasn't told is that it costs $4.95/day. In my view that rate is outlandish as was their misleading representation. In the last 2 years I have had free Wi-Fi in most CG we have stopped at. We will not return. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Motorhome.

Very narrow drives. BUT, we had just fought 50-70 MPH winds and could have stayed in a prison yard. OK for overnight stops. We camped at Best Western Canton Inn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Swamp Fox Campground, Florence, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is our third time here. We were told they were booked beginning early next week for the Nascar race. BUT, we told the very nice lady at the desk we were here to put the wife's sister in a nursing home and they let us stay AND GAVE US THE PA RATE. Now how can you beat that? The place is not elegant and has a few permanents but it is fine for stopover of a few days of local site seeing. Wi-Fi comes from the Motel adjacent owned by the same family. We camped at Swamp Fox Campground in a Motorhome.
