Round Top Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Trying to stay near Frederick MD, my usual favorite campgrounds were booked. Weekends in Oct are popular and we booked late, but we were able to get in here. I see why now. This campground is very tight, there were trailers within inches of the roads/stop signs throughout, and its a very uneven campground with all kinds of hills and valleys. The roads are very narrow bumpy paved, some gravel. Most of this place you can hear trucks thundering by, as its really almost right next to Rt 15. It is also full of permanent sites with sheds and junk thrown around. The "bathhouse" was a little tiny building, looked like cabin, 2 bathrooms, 2 showers. No hot water in one, and no paper towels to dry your hands except for the am we left. The only dumpsters were at the entrance and we were far from that. Glad we weren't staying a long time, would have had to keep hauling trash in our car. The only thing good about this campground is it's close to Gettysburg, but so are several other campgrounds. Glad we checked it out, but will never stay here again. We camped at Round Top Campground in a Motorhome.

Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is very large and a true "resort" Beautifully kept grounds with a lovely store, little plaza of shops, restaurant and bar on-site. Even a 100 horse riding stable, and those horses were beautiful and obviously well cared for. They had a rodeo on site the day we arrived, really fun. You can rent an ATV, we rented a 6 seater so all 5 of us could go 4 wheeling through the woods nearby. Mt Rushmore is just down the road. I really laugh when people are complaining about wi-fi. It's a campground, in a super hilly area, in fact the mountain view is stunning. I have verizon and service was in and out all through the whole state, through Montana, Wyoming etc depending on how mountainous. If you need Wi-Fi to enjoy yourself go stay in a hotel. There is plenty to do right in this resort, I was not surprised it was packed. Would stay here again, but would pay extra for the better sites that have a concrete pad, table and chairs and a swing!! We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch in a Motorhome.

Massey's Landing, Millsboro, Delaware

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

We came to Massey's on opening weekend last year, alot was not finished so we were anxious to see the changes. It is really beautiful. Sites are large with a separate place for your tow vehicle. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Large store, delicious ice cream. Large well stocked liquor store. Pool area with adult swim bar, did not use, too cool, but very nice. Great restaurant on the beach area with large bar, great views, cornhole. Nice outside tables. Really came out nice.

Only reason I did not give a 10 is location for me, not their fault. The beach is more like on a bay, sand is very dry and while the views are beautiful you're not feeling/smelling ocean breezes, its too far from the Ocean.

Shuttle/drive to Rehoboth 45min to an hour due to traffic. We come from Maryland and its the same distance to another great RV resort where I can get my ocean fix. Would definitely return to Massey's but not for my annual "beach" RV vacation. We camped at Massey's Landing in a Motorhome.

J & D Campgrounds, Catawissa, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground with lots of trees and large, long, wide sites. We stayed in the E section, had plenty of room for our large motorhome and everything else on our site. Restroom was far from our site but very clean. Store is small and not much in the way of scheduled activities, but it has two ponds, one for fishing, one has a beautiful fountain. We planned to go to Knoebels, (didnt make it) this is right down the road. Would definitely stay here again if coming to the area. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was a one night stopover. Was pleasantly surprised by this park. Very quick off and on I80, staff was nice and efficient, reasonably priced. Nice little campground with plenty of room to manuever our 40ft motorhome. Several restaurants within walking distance and walmart right down the street. Being very close to I80 wondered about road noise, was not an issue. Wifi was good. Not much to do within the park, but a great little campground, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

I was really looking forward to staying here after all the great reviews. It is a beautiful RV park, very clean, nice trees. Site fairly level, long enough for 40ft motorhome and toad. If you're trying to call them, it may take you awhile to get through. If they have customers at the desk they don't answer the phone. Nice for the customer there, not so nice when you're trying to get there and need an answer. Everyone there was pleasant except for one older woman, she was very snooty. The brochure they give you is full of rules, but have fun. Wifi for only 2 devices. With 5 people that was not fun, then my son fiqured a way ;) No campfires allowed, but the lodge right down the street had huge fire pits. No mats or carpets, and their sprinklers come on everynight to douse your stuff. You must park your RV and toad in a straight line.(so you don't disturb the sprinklers) No hammocks.....lots of rules. Very nice grounds, but if ever back in the area will try a different cmpground. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red Lodge KOA, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here to tour beartooths. They at first put us at a small site, then moved us to a patio site, it of course cost more. Ground not very level, patio was very nice, had a nice fire ring and a very comfortable table and chairs. The campground itself really has nothing to offer. Grounds keeper was running a lawnmower for quite awhile kicking up dust around dinner time. We went into town. very small store with no groceries. Would probably not stay here again. We camped at Red Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty, woodsy campground. Lots and lots of trees. Site size adequate with a large motorhome. We only stayed one night on our way from yellowstone, my children were disappointed we didnt stay longer. Lots of hiking trails with fantastic views of the Tetons. They have a marina, 2 restaurants, large gift shop and visitor center. Nearby bathhouse was clean. Close to Jackson lodge and all the amenities of the Grand Tetons. Would stay here again. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA, Streetsboro, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Got in late just for an overnight, but this is a very pretty campground, lots of trees and 2 lakes very close to I80. Typical check-in and escort provided by staff, (the reason we choose to stay at KOAs when we can) Didn't get to check out the store, but it looked substantial, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA in a Motorhome.

Geneseo Campground, Geneseo, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Couldn't get in to the KOA we planned, looking for full hook-ups & space for a large motorhome just for the night. Went by the reviews and most were spot on. This campground is a hidden gem. Very clean, quaint with large mature trees, yet room for our large motorhome. The owner told me she only had a site left that would just fit the motorhome, and probably the toad, but not hooked up. She was correct. Plenty of room for motorhome, jeep parked sideways, fit fine. Off the beaten path a bit, but roads are plenty large enough and mostly straight getting here. There was construction nearby and a low clearence bridge in town. Owner gave me perfect direction to and when leaving back to I80. We got in late so didn't get to check it out, but saw they have a small area set up inside for playing games etc, and a quaint little store with some unique items. The only reason I didn't give a 10 rating was no store on site for food. Although the town nearby has everything you might need. Not much as in way of amenities, but peaceful and beautiful. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Bethpage Camp Resort, Urbanna, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $94.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very large group camping for July 4th. Many sites had smelly water, but the biggest problem was 17 (so far) people are sick with ear and other infections after swimming in their small lake. The resort is reluctant to agree the illness's are from the lake. Swim at your own risk. Oh, and no walking your dog after 11pm. Our large group will not be back. We camped at Bethpage Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wellesley Island State Park, Fineview, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very large, beautiful State Park and inexpensive. We stayed in "F" loop, only loop with full hook-ups. Site was very large, with a paved pad. Nice shade trees near most sites. The park is so big you need a bike to get around. No real bath house for this area. Other areas without full hook-ups had them and they looked new. Great hiking trails, and just biking around the park was fun. Was nice to take the 1000 Islands boat tour, and they have fishing boats for rent cheap, right from the marina in the campground. Reasons I didn't give a "10." The electric service is only 30amp and weak. No WiFi. You have to go over the bridge for anything and pay $2.50 whenever you returned. Not the campground's fault, but expensive as we went over every day. Might stay here again, but not in hotter weather due to weak service (need my A/C). But all in all, a beautiful state park. We camped at Wellesley Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeside Campground, Windsor, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

I called ahead asking about sites for big rigs. Was told they have a 60ft pull through. What they have is 3 sites in a row front to end, thank goodness no one else was there. Very tight getting in. Nothing around. Horribe, windy, hilly, dirt roads getting there. Camper and truck were filthy when we got there. No store to speak of. Just a tiny "hole-in-the-wall" type of campground. Stayed there for one night thinking a fairly quick off I-81. Terrible. Will never stay there again. We camped at Lakeside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty campground. Well run & maintained. I loved our site (101), it was woodsy, nice and wide, but tricky getting in & out with a large fifth wheel due to winding roads in this area. They do have newer sites for larger rigs, but we weren't offered one when registering. The WiFi is poor, but everything else was pleasant. If you have small children this is an amazing place. There is SO much to do for kids. We came to bike the C&O canal which is very close by and I wanted to check out a Jellystone campground. Wouldn't stay here again since my kids are teens, and the park is mostly full of little ones screaming in glee all day long. But someday if I ever have grandchildren I'll be back. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Fifth Wheel.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty campground. Wish we could have enjoyed the gardens, but cold and it snowed! Very tight to maneuver big rigs, plus glad we didn't meet another camper on the way in. While scenic, an extremely narrow road. Staff was friendly, great little diner onsite. Had a great breakfast there. Wi-Fi is weak. Pool was closed, but small. Store just ho-hum. We came here to go to the onsite haunted house, but never made it. Heavy wet snow apparently took some trees down, and the campground lost power from about 6pm on Saturday & was still out when we left at 1pm the next day. While this was not their fault, the fact that the office was just "closed" during that time was disappointing. There were campers wandering around looking for answers, no one to be found. Would not stay here again due to that, and it's just a bit small. We prefer a little more room on a site with our large RV with 4 slides. Would like to see the gardens in nicer weather though. They get a "10" for that. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
