Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We are currently here in the off season. It's a great park, although I wish their laundry facilities were up and running now, but they aren't until May when there's no chance of freezing. There is tons of goose droppings around: make sure you have plenty of mats to wipe your shoes before going into your rig. The staff is very friendly, nice and helpful. Every day we have seen groups of deer. You get great sunsets behind the mountains. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Rockwell RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We had several problems with our RV that day and wound up staying until 5. They were very helpful and accommodating, and didn't make us pay extra. The pool and hot tub were wonderful! The lot is all gravel. They have a night registration where you can pull in late and see what's available and pay in the morning: no reservation required during off season. There is a very big commercial area just over the highway, (Rockwell is right off the highway). It was great to find some things including Starbucks, Radio Shack, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and lots of food choices. We camped at Rockwell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and helpful; able to change our reservation easily during off season. It is clean and well maintained; bathrooms and showers were heated; easily accessible to Graceland. The campground is all paved and we were able to fill up on propane while here. You can pull in and take an empty lot in the off season rather than having a reservation: night check-in and pay in the morning. We are new to RV parks and found this to be a great, clean, accessible park. I don't think the area in Memphis is anything great, but we felt comfortable here and there was a guard out front. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic park. It is all gravelly with patches of grass and the roads are very rutted and uneven lots - made it difficult to maneuver around. It is on a hill. If there had been rain, I think it would be terrible. It was fine for a stopover, and the people were nice. We arrived late so they put out an orange cone for us to see the spot more easily. We were in late and out early, so I didn't use the restroom facilities. They did have areas to walk the dog. We camped at Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort in a Motorhome.
