Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park), Andalusia, Alabama

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We have once again stopped here on our way to Florida for the winter. Since the new ownership has taken over a few years ago, the place has really changed for the better. They now have cable and wi-fi and set up a disc golf course and even for us old folks, it was fun to play. A nice way to get a little exercise and have a little fun. Camp host was most helpful and helped us back in to our site, as we arrived after dark. They also have pull-through sites available, we wanted a waterside site. We will definitely drop by again on our way back north and will stay a little longer also. Fishing should be better in March. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park), Andalusia, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is being improved each time we visit. We usually visit it on our way to and from Florida. 3- 4 years ago, it was getting unbearable: loud people, too many visitors that stayed to long, etc. These past 2 years, there is new management and the improvements are wonderful. The bathrooms are clean now, the campground is cleaner, and the riff-raff is gone. The camp host is friendly and helpful and is glad you are there as a guest. It wasn't like this before. The improvements are very noticeable and are very welcome also. I rate this campground as one of the best on our trip to and from Florida every year. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground, they have several sites right on the lake and about 12-14 pull thoughts off he waterfront. The camp host were very friendly and helpful. The campers are mostly local, and were very friendly also. They also have a nice swimming area with a paved boat ramp. The showers and bathroom were clean. The weekend we were here they had a family union in their clubhouse and everyone seem to be having a good time, cooking out, kids playing on the playground. A pleasant time all around. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Gantt Lake RV park, Andalusia, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a destination campground, it is more of a trailer park. Almost all the sites are for long term sites with some folks seeming to live there. The sites are very close to each other and some are quite messy with too much lawn furniture, etc. The people are nice, but its just not a campground, its more of trailer park. We camped at Gantt Lake RV park in a Motorhome.

Flint River RV Park (formerly Bainbridge/Flint River KOA), Bainbridge, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The staff for this KOA is very friendly and helpful. You would think this was a mom and pop campground and not a franchise. The sites are spacious but could use a little more shade as not many of them are shaded. It is close to the water and a boat ramp and there are stores nearby. The pool is clean and the camp store has just the things a camper would need. We camped at Flint River RV Park (formerly Bainbridge/Flint River KOA) in a Motorhome.

Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quiet little campground. It has some transient sites, but most are park models. If the transient sites are full, you get to camp in between all the park models. Not the best kind of camping, but not too bad. The long termers are friendly, but seem to be put off by you invading their turf. Close to lots of stores, the beach and plenty of churchs. I would highly recommend. We camped at Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn in a Motorhome.

Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground, Live Oak, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Wow this park has a little of everything. An on site restaurant, a few little shops, canoe rentals, beach area. The restaurant has live music on the weekends. The campsite we had had plenty of shade, which was needed because it was hot and humid. The campground personnel could be a little more friendly, but we didn't have to deal with them too much. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
