Parris Island RV Park (Military FamCamp), Parris Island Marine Base, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I checked with the office today and the campground is still without power. The power was damaged in Hurricane Matthew in September of 2016 and they have not had power since then. They are hoping repairs to begin in the middle or late of July 2017. If you are staying there on generator when repairs begin you will have to leave and they will give you a refund per the office personnel. We camped at Parris Island RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Creekwood Farm RV Park, Waynesville, North Carolina

Overall Rating:

Stay here every year during leaf changing time in the fall. Great family park. Need to bring your own fire ring. WiFi is strong, great water pressure, cable TV is good, Verizon signal is strong. If you want a creek-side site during the fall you need to reserve early. We camped at Creekwood Farm RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hollywood Casino RV Park, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Checked in on a Saturday and someone was in the office. Never found the office attended after that. If you needed anything you had to call the hotel front desk on a phone in the laundry room or on your cell. To get a copy of your bill you had to go to the hotel front desk or have them e-mail it to you. I departed on a Sunday and by Tuesday had not received my bill via e-mail. It took 4 phone calls and 7 days to have my incorrect bill fixed. Apparently they have a problem returning phone calls.

The hook ups are placed in a strange place which causes to to place your coach in a strange position. The entire park needed maintenance. Since our last stay it has been neglected. Good luck on the office. We camped at Hollywood Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Entry into park and campground looks like you are entering a gated community and looks great. Personnel were all very very nice and helpful. Had a great camp store with wood for sale. We were here at Festival of Lights time so make sure you are back in park before 5:00 pm on weekends or you will be waiting in line. Public starts lining up @ 4:00 pm to get in. With all the work on the entry area I would expect more appearance work for the sites. Most sites look rough and need clean up. Our site had a gully running thru it right where you would place your jacks. Gravel in the sites would be a great improvement. The ground is hard but your parking on dirt in all the sites. Most of the sites had families with dogs and place is both family and dog friendly. Dog park in the main park area is one of the best I have seen. NO CABLE so use your sat receiver or over the air. WiFi was slow but Verizon Mifi worked great and no issue with cell service. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be back in park before 5:00 pm on weekends during the Festival of Lights time. Downtown is only 5 miles away but afternoon rush hour traffic to James Island starts at around 4:30 pm Some people were saying it took them 45 minutes to get back from downtown during afternoon traffic. It is backed up for a couple of hours. Melvins Legendary Bar BQ was fantastic.

Wekiva Falls RV Resort, Sorrento, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $42.00

I will give the staff 5 stars as they are great in customer service. The layout of utilities is not typical. I had to re-position 3 times to get close enough to power, water, and sewer and still had to get a 20 ft extension on my power cable. A staff member told me they had extension cables and brought me one at no cost. Had to use extension on water hose as well to hook up within range of sewer. Water pressure was low and Verizon cell service was good. The sites are grass but it is thick and nice. The weekend crowd is rough with heavy drinking and loud music near the spring. Deputy sheriffs work security on weekends. Quiet time is 10 PM to 8 AM and the 10 PM quiet time is a joke. We might return during the week but not the weekend because of the water park customers. I wouldn't return at all if the staff weren't so helpful and nice. We camped at Wekiva Falls RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We try to stay here every year. Had pull thru this year and they were great as usual. Folks in office helpful and friendly and very cordial. This is a great campground, one of the finest we stay in. Verizon phone coverage was excellent and Wi-Fi was good. Cable TV had good selections and water pressure good. No complaints or negatives as usual. Will be back soon.. We camped at River Vista Mountain Village in a Motorhome.

Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park), Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are far apart so you are not on top of your neighbor. Heavy shade. Roads are paved, and bath houses are very clean and kept up well. Had to ask for ceiling fans to be turned on and then only on low for some reason. Plenty of wildlife (deer) in area for viewing. Museum was very nice and informative. Our site was not level but hard packed, and we could get sat TV reception. Staff were all very polite and nice but when asked a question they didn't know the answer to they made things up. Got conflicting answers from different staff members. Verizon cell service was excellent, and you are only 5-10 minutes from main food and shopping area of Ocala, but you feel isolated in park. Water pressure was low. If it had sewer it would be close to a 10. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Rainbow Springs State Park, Dunnellon, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here yearly with a group to tube. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Site is pressed rock and firm and level. We had some shade but park is not known for the shade. Park has several hosts and is usually full during the summer for tubers. Water pressure was good and this is one of the few state parks with sewer. We seldom have any issues here and when I have the park personnel always respond quickly to assist. We will be back next year for more of the river. Verizon phone coverage was strong and Walmart is only about 10 minutes away for your needs. We camped at Rainbow Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This park is owned by a young couple who are very professional and helpful. The area is landscaped and decorated in a pleasing manner. The couple live on site and handle after-hour issues quickly and promptly. The interior roads are paved and level. We were very pleased with the park except for a few items. Our gravel site was slightly off level where I had to board the front jacks but not severely. The water pressure was consistently low which required us to use our water pump. Sites were much farther apart than most other RV parks we observed in the area. Wi-Fi had good strength but had to be reset several times by the owner. Verizon cell strength was strong but AT&T was weak to none. Park was very busy and was full most of the time. We would certainly stay here again. A very nice place with great owners. We camped at Up the Creek RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Rainbow Springs State Park, Dunnellon, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very little shade, but bath rooms were all spotless. Park has 4 hosts that keep it clean. Most sites hard packed lime rock topped with small gravel. Utilities worked well. Most sites are overgrown around the boundaries but park says it is the natural Florida look. I personally think it could look better with some trimming. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. TV reception is HORRIBLE. In late afternoon and evening you lose several TV stations for poor reception. Verizon cell service was great. Swimming pool is closed indefinitely. Great tubing in the river, so we return every year. We camped at Rainbow Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

River Vista Mountain Village, Dillard, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Just spent 7 days here, and it was great. The owners take special pride in their facility, and have many amenities that most camp grounds don't have: enclosed fireplace under shelter, inside huge hot tub plus the community gathering center. Our site was level and Wi-fi was pretty good. It was slow at some busy times but never failed to connect. Some guests sped through the park too fast, but when we complained an employee went to the offenders and asked them to slow down. We will certainly return. We camped at River Vista Mountain Village in a Motorhome.

Yellow Jacket Campground, Old Town, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Park is in a great scenic place along the Suwannee River. Our site was on the river with a great view. Sites are dirt with some light gravel (level). Each site had a fire ring and most had very heavy tree cover. Cable TV was acceptable with 20 channels but almost no service for AT&T customers with marginal service for Verizon cell users. The park has way too many rules published even though we were not bothered by any of the staff looking for violations. LOL. Pool looks new and over view of park is very good. It is located 9 miles down the road from Old Town down a lime rock road and 15 miles from Chiefland where you can find Super Wal-Mart and grocery store. Yellow flies were out so we used a screen house around picnic table. Nice pavilion and clubhouse. You can purchase bags of ice from the office plus wood as you are not allowed to bring any wood into park. We camped at Yellow Jacket Campground in a Motorhome.

Blythe Island Regional Park Campground, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We always enjoy this park. Staff very friendly and helpful, and park has constant attention by staff. Strong Wi-Fi. Good cable choices and Verizon cell service is good. Our site (95) was large, wide and mostly level but is only lime rock. Great fire pits located in each site and wood is available from vendor on site. Heavy tree cover is nice as it surrounds each site. Pull throughs are long and able to accommodate any size rig. We will return soon for another visit. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Great campground. Stayed a week and everything was great. Every employee was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The office has preprinted directions to grocery stores and other places, and willing to give verbal directions and recommendations. Park was busy with rigs coming in and out but never felt too crowded. Restrooms were spotless. Sites well kept and everything worked great. Great cable TV selection. We will stay again next year for sure. We camped at Creekwood Farm RV Park in a Motorhome.
