So this will sound positive and negative, but we ended up staying for three nights so you can deduce from that what you will. So here's the deal, it's pretty with redwood trees all around and a creek running in front of the park. Our site wasn't quite level and had a leak underground but I didn't care about the mud. We had a nice little lawn and fire pit and the management was really nice. There were a few things that made the place kind of weird, like the "chapel" hidden up in the redwoods which also had a giant pentagram and 666 spray painted on a monolithic rock behind it, and there are a LOT of full-time residents here. The kind with sun-bleached lawn ornaments and tattered astroturf everywhere. It was a strange breed that lived there full time but we never had a problem. $35 was a little pricey for the place but still it was decent and worked for us and we never felt unsafe. Spiders and the like in the unheated bathrooms and coin operated timed showers but they did the trick. Solid 7.

Willits is quite a town. Lots of, interesting looks. We stayed here on the way to Arcata and although we got to do laundry and they have lots of stuff for kids to do, I was pretty unimpressed with the site. And $40 is highway robbery. The sites have no privacy, just a big gravel lot basically and there were drunken employees sitting around the pool drinking light beer and talking loudly when we got here. (If anyone is going to be drunk and talking loudly, it's ME.) I don't know. It was safe, it was clean, the showers were great (although they close them from 11AM to 2PM so check your watches), but they don't have sewer hookups at each site, there was no privacy, no ambience to the place and for $40 it was a rip-off.
