Staff was helpful, friendly and visible. Many activities: breakfast cereal buffet, crafts, Gem mine, movie night. Sites were a bit unlevel but the gravel pad to park camper was slightly level; sites were not tight as another review suggested. Full hook-up sites have "patio" which has large gravel so carpet is a necessity. Park was very clean, w/variety of sites: full-hook up, deluxe hook-up, cabins, lodges, tent/pop-up sites. Pool was nice, bathrooms clean, and the showers hot.

This campground is very wooded; 95% of the sites are completely shaded, which means the ground is sandy not grassy. Most of the sites are incredibly small. We have a 25' travel trailer with a slide-out and awning. We were given a 20' wide by 30' deep site. By the time we opened our slide out and awning we were over the boundaries of our site. When our neighbor pulled into his site he had to move over quite a bit so he wasn't under our awning. Aside from the tightness and cramped feeling of the campground, it was clean and quiet; had a nice beach with boat rentals; camp store with games and ice cream; hosted a pig roast/pot luck. We would probably not camp here again as we prefer to have more room on our sites.

PROS: Kitchen sink for doing dishes; nice bike/hiking path around pond; paddle boats/canoe/kayaks for rent; washer/dryer. CONS: sandy sites (very messy and trailer started to sink); sites are small, no where to park; dump station is right in front of bathrooms--kind of gross; not a lot to keep kids busy. KOA personnel zealous to enforce some rules but not all. Got very upset when someone came to visit us and didn't check in the office within 5 minutes, but let someone take a bath in the lake.

This park is very nice, clean and quiet; large pull-thru sites; clean, large bathrooms (tokens for showers); shaded, grassy sites. However, not a lot to do for kids--small playground and one basketball hoop. Diner and putt-putt across the street. Great if you want a nice place to stay but will be spending lots of time in Birch Run or Frankenmuth.
