This was the second time we've stay here, just a stopover on our way north. This park would be worth coming back to for a longer stay, as it is really outstanding. Both times we've checked in after hours; not a problem, our info posted for us on the office door. (We would have preferred a concrete site, but were given gravel.) Easy pull through sites; plenty of room in between; nice grass areas between sites and around the park. So many other parks in CA are claiming lack of landscape maintenance due to the drought; living in CA myself I understand water conservation. However, here at Bakersfield River Run they manage to keep everything beautiful. A real oasis. The park is very dog friendly; nice grassy doggie area with pick-up bags. Not fenced for off leash running, but nice to have a designated spot for them to “go”! Lots of other grassy areas for walking, plus a trail along the river.

Very nice park, our third time here. We stayed three nights, using this as a base to explore south to Jamestown and north to Amador City. Such a cute, rustic, atmospheric park, takes you back in time to the gold rush days. That said, they manage to keep it rustic and charming without it also being tacky and rundown. Sites are gravel; green around them is just mowed weeds, would almost be better to have more gravel and no green surfaces at all. The weeds have a lot of foxtails in them, which were an issue for our dogs. (Foxtails get stuck between toes, and if not found, work their way inside the dog, under the skin. Big hazard.) LOTS of trees, nice and shady; up a long road so you are pretty isolated; feels like real camping! Staff is very helpful and friendly; we were in a site on the hill, but had help getting in and getting out.

We have stayed at this park twice before, the last time 4 years ago. Both times it was very nice and green; some grass, some mowed weeds. Big change! Mostly mowed weeds, lots of dead patches; millions of foxtails which are a big issue for those of us who travel with dogs. The worst foxtails were in the enclosed dog yard! Yes CA has a drought; we live in CA and have the same issues at home. This seems to be a case of just letting the place run down. On the plus sice, the staff was very friendly, park very clean, quite a few full time residents but rigs/spaces were clean and tidy. We share others' feelings about the "one hour free wifi", should be free/unlimited like all other RV parks. For this park I would have expected to pay about $35, not $53. And that was after the KOA club card discount. We would not stay here again.

Super clean and nice! We got there well after hours, but we knew our site number and headed there. Within moments, the security guard drove up to help us set up, give us paperwork, etc. She also helped figure out our dinner plans at the casino! She went above and beyond, and we appreciated it so much. As for the park, it was lovely! Very well maintained, desert style buildings, all attractive. We used the laundry, it was immaculate. Checked in to the clubhouse too, grabbed a donut, the lady on duty was very cordial and friendly; clubhouse also attractive.

This place felt like a resort! Beautiful entrance, huge well stocked gift shop, easy check in. Big wide sites with paver patios and picnic tables. Sites were set up with rigs facing every other direction, which would be great if travelling with someone else. (Probably not great otherwise, though!) We decided to stop here and called just the day before; even though they seemed fairly full, we got a nice site on the end, with a tree. Great for our dogs! Very nice desert landscape, no stickers or weeds; well maintained fenced dog run. We appreciate the dog run and lack of stickers as we travel with our two Standard Schnauzers. We also purchased propane here; easy transaction. Family run park, dad, mom, son and daughter; all were delightful and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, loved the Gallup area!

WOW, this place is an oasis! Out in the middle of nowhere, it appears out of the desert. Beautiful grounds, nicely done with gravel and decomposed granite. Two fenced dog runs; and they actually have several grassy lawn areas. (A must for our dogs to walk on, they love their grass.) The place is gated 24/7, but as a guest you receive a code to enter to open the gate. Easy in and out if you want to go into Winslow for dinner. We LOVED this place, would stay hear again, highly recommend.

We stayed here just one night, brief stopover on our way from CA to NM. We arrived late, yet the hosts were very accommodating. We didn't use any of the facilities, like restrooms, etc. but we did enjoy the park. Very clean park, well landscaped, nice oleander hedges between sites gave lots of privacy. Super easy in and out, lots of pull-through sites. We would stay here again.

This park is mostly long term residents, very few sites available to reserve nightly. The manager stated that their company policy is that if a long term resident extends, a nightly person even with reservations is placed in their overflow area. The overflow area was stated to have hookups, but water and electric only, no sewer. In fact there were no hook ups; electric was run from the office and not sufficient to run AC. If you plan to stay during warm months, I would recommend you have a working generator for AC. Water hookup was fine. The water hook ups are hose bibs around the perimeter of the overflow, which is a very large parking lot. The water hook ups were fine. The restrooms were clean; the staff was friendly and as accommodating as they could be. The park was overall in decent shape, nice in the overflow area where we parked, but many sites inside the park were not well kept up. There is no dump station at this park.

What a great park! Very clean, beautiful green grass everywhere, tons of families and big groups but noise level non-existent. We camped here in conjunction with the car show in Solvang; we were with 6 other couples in RVs, several had classic cars. This place accommodated us very well, put us all in a row together, no issues with extra cars. LOVE THEM!

This was the fourth time we have stayed here; every time before has been PERFECT; this time a disaster. We go to Ventura for a dog show at the fairgrounds same time every year. We know it's a holiday, and we enjoy hearing everyone celebrate. We have always been able to choose our site; we make reservations 6 months in advance. On arrival, we were told that because we didn't pay a fee of $15, our site selection had not been guaranteed. We said we would gladly have paid that and more to guarantee the site; we were told "well you know now". We were squeezed into the same size site in another section of the park, with ANOTHER RV at no reduction of price. We were so upset, I was in tears. Eventually they moved us to a site near the one we had chosen. We noticed that the sewer connection was full of water, but hooked up anyway and had no problems until we left and were unable to dump our tanks. Also, they had a band playing until midnight on Saturday, even though quite time was 10PM. We complained to Security to no avail. When we went home, we tried to contact the park manager to voice our issues but never received a return call. We posted on their Facebook page with the same request; they removed our post without a call. I don't know if this place has changed hands or not, but it seems like they feel like you have no other choice but them so put up or shut up!

This park is fairly rustic but very pretty, with lots of trees. There are quite a few permanent residents, but they are all off in a couple of sections away from the overnights. Unfortunately these are the only full hook up sites. Luckily we didn't expect full hook ups. We had a late winter storm while we were there, and this was a huge problem. All of the sites turned to nasty, sticky mud; stepping out of our motorhome we stepped into about 1" of mud. The roads became rutted and full of potholes, and we damaged the bottom of our towed car when we were leaving. (It was not hitched to our motorhome.) Overall the place is nice, the manager is very accommodating, and we would stay here again. BUT do not stay here if you expect any kind of wet weather at all!

We were originally booked at a park in Fresno but were "bumped" and had to find a place quickly. We found this park in the Auto Club tour book, called them, and they had a spot for us! Very nice couple running the place, friendly and accommodating to us even though we didn't have reservations. Even recommended a nice place for dinner in town. Beautiful, clean, quiet park in a rural area but close enough to the main part of town. Can't say enough good things about them!

Very rustic looking park, authentic to the area. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice big site, gravel throughout park. Small fenced dog walk area. Lots of big trees; very clean and quiet. We would stay here again!

Very basic park with gravel drives and sites. Lots of big shade trees, clean and well kept. Quiet even though it was in between a busy street and the 5 Fwy. Owner/Host very friendly and accommodating. No sewer hookups but rest stop north on the 5 has two free dump stations. We stayed here for a dog show at Del Mar fairgrounds. Much better than the full hookup sites that we saw at the fairgrounds. We will stay here again.
