Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. Well laid out, clean and tidy with helpful staff. The downside is that in addition to a high nightly rate we were charged $5 per day for our car, and $15 if we wanted to wash our trailer. There was also an additional charge if we wanted friends to stay overnight. The rate quoted was based on their weekly rate. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA, Las Vegas, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find. Owners very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe on site where you can purchase breakfast and supper - which makes for a convenient over night stay. The downside for me is that the campsite is all rough gravel, which makes it dusty and uneven. Also there is a Wi-Fi service available, but it is very slow and kicks you off frequently. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

R.J. RV Park, Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older campsite with several long-term residents. The site was clean and well kept and very, very quiet at night which was great after a long day travelling. The full through configuration was interesting to say the least, but we got our 63 feet in without a problem. We would over night here again. We camped at R.J. RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Payne Oil RV Park, Newton, Kansas

Very basic site with good size level pull throughs. Close to the road so a little noisy and dusty, but ideal for an overnight stop. We camped at Payne Oil RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good overnight stop. Easy to find. Long pull through sites but not very level so be prepared to unhitch. We would stop here again. We camped at Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Garrity RV Park, Nampa, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This site is old and small with barely enough room for slide outs in each spot. The majority of the site is dominated by permanent residents and their ensuing junk. The manager is lacking in people skills to the point of rudeness. The only reason we stayed here was because of business in Nampa and the alternative site had a worse review! We camped at Garrity RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground! The pull throughs were more than adequate for our 63ft total length, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The sites are concrete, level and very spacious with manicured lawns in between each site. We will definitely be back again and plane to stay for much longer than one night. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Phillips RV Park, Evanston, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has been family owned and run since 1936. The family are very quick to resolve any issues that arise. The sites are easy to access, clean and well maintained. This park is close to the busy hwy 189 so there is some traffic noise, but the real downside is that the rail track also runs parallel to the hwy. Thankfully the trains are not that frequent but they are noisy. We stayed for two nights due to having business in the area but we would not consider this park for a longer stay. We camped at Phillips RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Canyon RV Park and Campground, Panguitch, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small basic RV park. Although this park is right next to Hwy 12 it is very quiet, and a great place to use as a base or like we did as an overnight stop. Be aware that not all sites have 50amp, so if you need it be sure to ask for it (something we discovered after we had unhitched). They do have a basic cable TV and Wi Fi for their guests to use at no extra cost. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campsite has easy access to and from the I-20, but without the noise of the traffic. Wide and very long pull through sites, friendly and helpful staff, and a cafe on site offering dinner and breakfast at very reasonable prices. This is an awesome over nighter, and I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great site for overnight. It is easy to reach and easy to find from the I-20, but far enough away that the sound of traffic is not bothersome. The pull thrus are long and wide and easily accommodated us at 62ft and four slide outs. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Chatfield State Park, Littleton, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

I really liked this state park! We stayed in Loop D #168 & 166. We initially booked in for 3 nights and stayed in #168. When we added another night we had to move to #166 because 168 had been reserved already. Both sites were very large with a concrete pad big enough to park our total length of 62ft and then some. There was a large picnic area with a table and a fire pit. The best thing was that we weren't parked on top of any neighbors so plenty of privacy if you want it. Be aware that in addition to the daily rate there is an extra fee for a daily 'parking permit'. Check the website for details. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and will be coming back here again. We camped at Chatfield State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Trestle Creek RV Park, Hope, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park is a little hidden treasure. It is only open for the summer. The park has a total of 12 sites. 6 grass, 6 gravel and all of them back straight onto beautiful tree lined Trestle Creek. The park also has Trestle Creek National Forest mountains as its backdrop so each site has plenty of shade. The RV park is very well run and beautifully maintained by the on site owners, both of whom are friendly and very obliging. If there is a downside to staying in Hope it is the railway track being so close to many of the RV parks, this one included. However, the benefits of this little site far out weigh the infrequent train noise. We stayed here for a month, which is reflected in the price shown and the electric is metered. Definitely coming back again! We camped at Trestle Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
