Lake Afton Park, Goddard, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here while visiting family in Wichita. This is a large county park on a lake with lots of electric only sites. Some sites have shade but most are in open grass fields. Check in is at the park office/store. The sites are not numbered and the person in the store didn't have any information on where to find one. She just said to drive around and hook up to one you like. Not all are 50 amp and the 50 amp boxes are randomly mixed in. After searching a bit we discovered that the boxes will have '50 AMP ELECTRIC' stenciled on them. There is a storm shelter near the camping area in case of severe weather. There is a camp host that checks to make sure you registered. I he county Sheriff patrolled the park regularly. The rate is with the senior discount. We camped at Lake Afton Park in a Motorhome.

Methodist Cove COE, Republican City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great COE park. There is a loop with full hookup back in sites. All have some shade some have lots of it. Water pressure was good, 50 amp electric was good even on a hot weekend with a full campground. Most sites can be reserved five days in advance. They have about 14 walk up sites that are first come first serve. We were in a walk up site. All are back in with lots of room between sites. Sites are granite gravel, low dust and level. The loop roads are paved. No problem getting a big rig around and into the site. The camp hosts have been coming here for a long time and were great. The lake is very low due to the drought and the boat ramp is closed and you can not access the water from the campground. We camped at Methodist Cove COE in a Motorhome.

East View RV Ranch, Georgetown, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a week here while house hunting in the Georgetown area. It's a great base location on the east side of town. It is on the plains, there are no trees. The entire campground area is stone and the roads are crushed granite. They both keep road dust to a minimum. The owners live on site and maintain things very well. There are quite a few working campers but most of the big sites are transients. It is quiet and the view out the front of the bus was great. The field in front of the site was covered in Texas Bluebonnets. We will be back when we move here. We camped at East View RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Cedar Point Resorts / Lighthouse Point Campground, Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

What a great park. Clean, well maintained, lots of shade. It's right next to Cedar Point amusement park so there is lots of background noise from roller coasters and park activities but we knew this going in. It's also right on Sandusky Bay with access to the beach by the hotels. Nice pool too. The only drawback is no Wi-Fi but the cell service was excellent. We camped at Cedar Point Resorts / Lighthouse Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Al's Oasis Campground, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here last year too. It hasn't changed a bit. It's a good place to spend a night while trying to work your way across I-90. The pull through sites are close together, I feel weird knowing my sewer connection is so near my neighbors picnic table. On the plus side Al's has a good grocery store and fuel, gas and diesel. The staff is teenage girls with typical attitudes but they did take care of us. The pool looked good and there were lots of people taking advantage of it. There were quite a few tent campers and rest of the park was nearly full. Our pull through site was level and everything worked. The Wi-Fi was good. All in "Al" it was a decent place to spend a night on the road. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres RV Park, Center Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were heading for Montana and decided to go I-80 to 380 rather than through Chicago and Wisconsin on I-90. This was our first night stop-over and it was great. Huge wide pull through site with good level gravel roads. Owners were on site and were friendly and helpful when we arrived. We and our dogs loved the grass around the site; I wish my lawn at home was so nice. We'd have given it a 10 but for the highway noise. The owners are meticulous about the park and it shows. Everything is freshly painted or mowed. Just a real nice spot to spend the night or a few nights if you have things to do in the area. We camped at Lazy Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in Austin. Great campground for visiting Austin. Close to town but not right in town. Honcho Rest Campground, Elk Rapids, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on opening weekend to shake out our newly acquired motorhome. The campground is well maintained and facilities are very good. There are a couple of pull through sites but most are back in. The sites are paved with paved patio areas and are reasonably level. The sites are close together with some shade. It's a short walk to a grocery store and there is a public golf course right across the street. We camped at Honcho Rest Campground in a Motorhome.
