We love this FL State Park and have stayed here every December since 2005. We have also stayed other times in the year either in April-May or August-September. The park is well maintained and the park staff is always friendly. We have our favorite four sites and have always been able to get one of them when making reservations. Over the past couple of years they have started to add gravel in some of the sites and we wish they would add gravel to all sites. Then we would rate it overall as a 10. Handicap sites are concrete. The bath house is always clean and well maintained. We always feel safe camping here and even walk to the bath house in the dark. It is a beautiful park and we highly recommend staying here. One thing to consider because it is heavily wooded, which is why we like it so much, and that is don't expect to watch TV much. We can get some local channels by antenna and usually take DVD's to watch.

This was the first time we stayed at this LA State Park and we enjoyed our stay. We traveled daily to Shreveport to join other family/friends for a reunion. The drive each day was pleasant. We spent most of our time away from the park (four days,) but the time we did spend at our site and walking around the area was nice. The bath house was clean, but we have experienced better in other State Parks. We would stay here again and recommend you checking it out.

This was our first time to stay at this Florida State Park and we had a blast! This park is always full in the summer and we decided to make a reservation at the last minute and lucked out with an awesome pull-through site (and the only site available!) Actually, there are no "bad" sites at this campground. The private beach access from the campground area to the ocean is a nice walk (6-7 minutes), on a raised wooden walkway. We felt safe in this campground and walked dogs and went to the bath house after dark. Because this campground is so close to the ocean there is no sewer hookups (which is understandable), however we still rate it as an overall 10. We highly recommend this State Park and will go again!
