Southlake RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Park is kept clean and manicured. Sites are level. Access road is very narrow, and is very difficult at times to turn onto connecting road, as traffic is constant. Park is very crowded, neighbors very close, not allowing much privacy, which some long- term residents tend to invade. Dog area is outside the park, unmowed, and not fenced. Many do not pick up after their dogs inside the park. Very expensive park, fees are the same as sister parks that do have pools. Power outages whenever it storms, were without electricity for two days at a time. Not many reasons to refer to it as a resort. No plans to return. Not a destination park. We camped at Southlake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great stopover, The staff was friendly, the site is gravel but level. We were as far from the office as you could get and the Wi-Fi worked slow in the evening and good in the morning, cable TV was good, we will stay again. We camped at Area's Finest Country View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Salina KOA, Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We spent one night here. The staff is friendly, the site is level, the roads and site are gravel, which made it pretty dusty. Like most KOA campgrounds it costs more than it should. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I wouldn't want to stay here very long the traffic noise from the turnpike and trains were a nuisance. The staff was very friendly, the park was clean and neat. The cable was fuzzy but the WI-FI worked great. We camped at Emporia RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA, Granite City, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 3 weeks while working in the area, A first for me was the weekly rate of $140.00 plus electric, which is about $30.00. Like most KOAs it is older and priced on the high side. The park was kept neat and clean, the Wi-FI was weak. The pool was nice. Lot of trees and flowers. It is in an industrial area which is not the fault of the park. We camped at St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA in a Motorhome.

RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park), Hays, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I have been in cow pastures that were smoother and had better grass. This park is located next to a busy intersection and is pretty noisy. Had I known I would have stayed in Wakeeney or Russell. We camped at RV Village on Vine (formerly Shady Grove RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mid-America Camp Inn, Goodland, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed the night here to escape some high winds on I-70, The park was fine for an overnight. My site was short and only had 30 amp. The cable TV worked, and the WiFi was slow. The park itself is a little rundown and in need of some maintenance. We camped at Mid-America Camp Inn in a Fifth Wheel.

Katy Roundhouse, New Franklin, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quiet, secluded, nice little park. We got a spot that was level, but the water faucet leaked bad. We never saw anyone to tell, so left a note. I would of given a higher score and it is not the fault of the park but, there were stray dogs running through, we didn't feel safe walking our dog around. The City of New Franklin needs to address the dogs, and the construction on highway 5 gave us a one way lane road with two way traffic. Construction should be done by the end of MAY. We camped at Katy Roundhouse in a Fifth Wheel.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The roads are full of potholes and muddy. The sites are a little short if you don't want unhook. The permanent residents need to clean up. The electric pedestal had two 30 amp outlets, only 1 worked. The cable TV worked. This could be a decent park with some maintenance and a lot of cleanup. It was OK for an overnight stay. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park, well maintained, friendly and helpful staff, the bath house was cleaned daily. There are 2 negatives. One is there are no sewer hookups. You have to go to one of the two dump stations. The other is the two-week maximum stay. We stayed here for 12 nights while visiting relatives in Lexington. This park is worth going out of the way for. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Peaceful Pines RV Park, Saint Francisville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The name has been changed to Peaceful Pines. We stayed here for a week while working in the area. The new owner treated us like long lost friends. He is slowly getting it fixed up. The spot we were in tested my backing skills. The WiFi worked well. I am looking forward to coming back to see what else he has done. We camped at Peaceful Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Trails End Campground, Granite City, Illinois

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is perhaps the worst campground we have ever stayed at. The sites are short, not level and very close together. The road is dirt and full of holes. There are permanent residents who don't think there is a need to keep their site neat or free of dog waste. This area the park is in, seems to be very unsafe and dirty. Next time I come to this area, I will find somewhere else to stay. We camped at Trails End Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
