LifeStyle Rv Resort, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a very strange layout. Our pull thru was not big rig friendly. When we pulled into our site, we blocked the road to our rear and part of the front. When we circled around and tried another site, we had to park on an angle. The road and sites are gravel. The water and sewer connections are too close for comfort. The water connector is inches off the ground and inches from the sewer connection. There is a very busy railroad directly across the street and the rail noise could be heard all night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at LifeStyle Rv Resort in a Motorhome.

Holt's Shell RV Park, Gila Bend, Arizona

This is an Emergency stop over only. The park is all gravel. The hookups were okay but there was no cable, no tv signal and wifi would not stay connected. There was truck noise all night. We camped at Holt's Shell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $97.00
Overall Rating:

This is a class A park. The sites are close which seems to be standard in California. The streets are paved, the pads are concrete with good hookups. The pool and spa are clean and very refreshing. There are three dog parks. To the rear of the resort is a park and beach. There is always a breeze from the bay. We stayed here two weeks. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1. If you have a 40 and tow, a pull thru will give you more space to park. 2. Get the trolley map. Drive or walk over to the H Street trolley stop. A $5.00 ticket will get you to San Diego and back. The Blue Line will take you downtown and you can switch trolleys to get to the many locations (Little Italy, Old Town, Gaslamp). Take the trolley. Downtown parking is hard to find and expensive.

Orangeland RV Park, Orange, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 3rd visit here, but our first in a 40. The park is not big rig friendly especially if you have a tow. Getting the 40 fully in the space and getting the tow inside the fire lane line was difficult. There are some long term residents with unsightly equipment and too much stuff on their sites. The parks written rule is that dogs can not go on any grass in the park or along the walk outside of park. The dog parks were small, smelly and dirty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and spa were clean and refreshing. We camped at Orangeland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ventura Beach RV Resort, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located right at the edge of town. It is very clean and well maintained. Our site was a bit tight but enough room for the coach and tow. The roads are paved with concrete pads. There is 24 hour security at the gate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean park. The roads are paved with gravel sites and a concrete pad. There is a nice restaurant and small store at the resort. There is some railroad noise at one end of the park and some road noise along the main road side. We would stay here again. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Blackstone North RV Park, Fresno, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small but nice park. If you are near the front, you will have some traffic noise. We were in the back and it was very quiet. The roads and sites were concrete. We had lots of shady. The hookups were good but the water pretty was low. There are no amenities at this site. You are allowed to wash your coach and tow. We camped at Blackstone North RV Park in a Motorhome.

Candlestick RV Park, San Francisco, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $106.00
Overall Rating:

The only good thing to say about this park is its proximity to downtown. This was our 3rd and last visit. Over a 7 year period, the owner has not made one noticeable improvement. In fact, it has gotten worst. The park is not big rig friendly. This was our first visit with our 40' and we had to try 3 sites before we were able to squeeze in between 2 backins. When we extended our full slide out, we were inches from the coaches on both sides. Parking is a real problem for tows. There are several long term units that are disgusting. They do not follow the rules pertaining to nose, working on vehicles, junk and walking pets. We even saw a rat around one of the end sites that was littered with junk. If you get stuck in the back, there is a construction company across the fence with lots of noise and dust. The park rule is to walk your dog outside the park. The walk outside the park is so littered with dog poop, we would not walk our dogs along the sidewalk. We camped at Candlestick RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

To walk your dog, turn left out of the path and drive to the Candlestick Park. (1/2 mile on your left). Stay along the water around to the fishing pier. Nice walk. Or, turn right and drive to the city park on the left. (1/2 plus miles). Also at that spot, view the bus system. If you ride the cable car, there are 2 lines. Get the day pass and get on / off. You can ride both lines on the day pass.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is a Class act park. If you or your children don't have a good time here, you need to head home. I've stayed in many KOA's and this park has more activities than any I've visited before. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete. The hookups are good and the wifi and cell phone worked. We will stay here anytime we're in the area. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Redwood Empire Fairgrounds, Ukiah, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is the keyword. It is a grass/dirt lot with hookups. The CG is on the main road but far enough back so as not to be disturbed by the road noise. BUT, there is a race track on the fairground and on the Friday and Saturday nights we were there, the noise was ungodly. Not sure we will stop here again. We camped at Redwood Empire Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Elk Country RV Resort & Campground, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was a last minute stop. We stayed out front in the open grass field known as the Meadow. There is another area in the back called the Forest. There are no amenities. There is no tv signal, the wifi was very weak as was the cell phone service (AT&T). The hookups were good but the water was from the well. The staff was good with any questions about the area and directions. The best thing about the location was the early morning arrival of the elks. What a beautiful sight to wake up and see a herd of elk right next to your coach. We camped at Elk Country RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

The Mill Casino RV Park, North Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a paved extension of the casino parking lot. There is a logging mill on the one end but we did not hear any noise because we were there over the weekend. A train track runs past the sites but did not pass on the weekend. We did hear it late Friday when we got there and again on Monday morning before we left. There is a very nice dog park for off leash pets. They have a great shuttle service to and from the casino. You can get a card from the casino front desk to use the gym, pool and spa. We camped at The Mill Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Port of Newport RV Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a paved lot with full hook ups. The wifi was weak but the cable was good. The pier area is huge with lots of areas to walk your pet. A right turn on the side walk outside of the park leads to the bridge and a long walk along the water. A left turn takes you to the overflow lot and the marina. Fresh fish is available most days as the fishing boats come in. We got fresh tuna right off the boat. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pheasant Ridge RV Resort, Wilsonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

This park is an easy on/off from I-5. Observing the speed limit is a must as the streets are narrow and tight. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete. Although we had a pull thru, we had to back out of our site because of the narrow street in front of the coach. Our site was not level and in order to find a somewhat level spot, very little space was left for the tow. There are lots of trees. There was a pet walking area but no pet park. There are lots of long term sites. We camped at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in a Motorhome.
