Ashaway RV Resort, Bradford, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

So many campgrounds describe themselves as a resort. Obviously Ashaway is still a work in progress. The owners have invested in "fun" things and have a nice pool and large event building. During our stay, there were many more travel trailers and fifth wheels staying there than motorhomes. Access road into the campground was dirt and stone and was very dusty. Directions to our site were confusing especially without better marking of site numbers. Sites were not paved and felt rather tight. Our site had very little grass (mostly sandy soil) on the entry side of the motorhome. Hard to keep dirt outside. Given time this park may evolve to be classified as a "resort" but this reviewer believes it fell short of that description. We camped at Ashaway RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres RV Park, Center Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite stops in Iowa. Owners have had the park for 10 years. We were there four years ago and have seen a continued expansion of the park. It is extremely well kept, clean, and offers everything needed with the exception of a pool and large laundry facility. The sites are level, large in length and width. They offer both full hookups and electric and water only sites. We camped at Lazy Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for 2 days and found the facilities, campground personnel, and access to Springfield tourist sites very appealing. Our full service campsite was very level with easy access to electric, water, sewage, and 12 cable TV stations. We used the laundry facilities while there and were pleased that it was clean and well maintained. Even though they did not have a dog park, there was plenty of space available for pets with waste disposal and bags available. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Points of interest include the Abraham Lincoln home, library, museum, tomb and memorial gardens. Also, Springfield is along Old Route 66 where we ate lunch at the famous Cozy Dog diner.

Pine Hill RV Park, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Our second visit in 3 years. New owners since first visit. Campground very well kept. Sites sized well and level. Large area for pet exercise at far end of the campground (not a dog park). Small playground and miniature golf course for kids. Need more pet clean-up areas around the campground. Only found one near camping area at entrance. Cable and Wi-Fi are adequate. Road noise from I-78 and road next to campground can be bothersome for some. Attended annual "pig roast" with camper's pot luck. Very nice hall and setup. Well attended. Hosts were great. We camped at Pine Hill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stony Fork Creek Campground, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here mid-July during heat-wave with a group of 8 coaches. Dry weather created much dust when moving about the campground in campers, cars, etc. Local utility reduced power by 10% which affected 50 amp service. Had to run 30 amp service and manage electrical use of a/c, microwave, appliances. Some in the group chose to run generators. Campground is in a valley which limited satellite TV, Wi-Fi, etc. Our site backed up to the lake. Overall campground is decent and would stay here again when "cooler" weather prevails. We camped at Stony Fork Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Sunset King RV Resort, Defuniak Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean and well-organized. Spent 7 days here. Very active park with daily events scheduled for full-time and part-time campers. Sites are well suited for larger motor homes. An attractive non-denominational chapel is on site and is well attended at Sunday services. The lake itself is fishable and boating with a troll motor is feasible but many old tree trunks protrude from the lake. This is a friendly campground, well run with friendly staff. We camped at Sunset King RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wildwood KOA, Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed her 1 week during special promotion 6 days at 26.00, 1 day free. Staff was very friendly. Was told that current owners purchased the camp ground in Aug '12 and that they have been making gradual improvements. Currently have small rec center. Office and store is adequate for small purchases. This campground is close to The Villages which was beneficial as we were visiting relatives there. Laundry facilities were in good condition. We camped at Wildwood KOA in a Motorhome.

Pelican Palms RV Park, Milton, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Small older park near interstate 10. Road noise excessive at night. Narrow entry/exit road. Office and store looked worn and in need of update. Sites were narrow and provided limited storage of our tow dolly and car parking. Sites were level though red clay sand in the park causes difficulty in keeping shoes, dog paws from dirtying the motorhome. No cable TV and limited local TV station access was disturbing. Campground recently installed a fenced dog run that provided good exercise area for our Boston Terrier. Free WiFi was a plus. We camped at Pelican Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground, Clanton, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Sites have ample width and length for large motor homes. A severe thunderstorm containing heavy rain, winds, tornado watch and hail during our stay necessitated our leaving the motor home into the lounge/bath house/laundry building with other campers. The building contained a very modern laundry facility, mens and womens showers (very clean and well cared for). Drainage on the site was poor and water saturated the grassy area on the site. Each site has a lighted post for good lighting at night. On site camping store is very clean and well stocked with camping gear and parts for motor homes. Overall a very nice facility. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Clinton / Knoxville North KOA, Clinton, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Office and store adequate. Staff friendly. Had full hook-up site. Water access located in concrete bowl was full of water after earlier heavy rain. Had to bale water to access hose connection. Site was narrow with small trees on either side. Was able to open slides but could not extend awning. Park not very attractive. We camped at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $44.00

Very nice campground. Only complaint was mix of tent campers among motorhomes and trailers. Tent campers in our are encroached on our site, crossing through to get to boat launch. Would return in the future. We camped at Lake Raystown Resort & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Pine Hill RV Park, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Camped with a group of 17 other RV's. Campground was very clean, with large, pull through sites. Water, electric and on-site dumping was very accessible. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy, cold and windy. Did not use other facilities. Interstate 78 highway noise is noticeable outside but neglible inside the motorhome. We camped at Pine Hill RV Park in a Motorhome.
