Live Oak Landing, Freeport, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week at Live Oak Landing and would definitely stay again. Level concrete RV sites with patio & picnic table. Sites weren't too close together. Daily trash pick-up. Pool was screened so it was clean, shady and almost bug-free. Only two washers & dryers for laundry. They have very nice cottages for rent or purchase (to put in rental pool at least 90 days/yr). We camped at Live Oak Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

New Publix grocery store in town. For Italian food, go to Christiano's in Santa Rosa. Grayson Beach State Park is short distance and very nice, but no indoor showers. Stay away from beach if dog flies are there.

Rayford Crossing RV Resort, Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, "away fom city" feel although close to highway & shopping. Spacious landscaped sites w/tables. Lovely outdoor patio seating area at clubhouse, but it was spoiled by squawking parrots kept in cages there. Same for pool. Clean, nice seating but lots of nearby squawking interrupting conversation. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Creek RV Park, Weatherford, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 3rd stay, because we really like this park. Clean, landscaped, good concrete sites w/small patio area. I think there are some permanent residents, but they're hard to distinguish from the monthly visitors. I was offered a tour of the clubhouse at check-in, which we later used for card games & watching B-Ball. They have some rooms to rent and the one our guest stayed in was as nice as any hotel. Clean, roomy, new-looking bathroom/showers. Our only negatives: no picnic tables and sites are narrow (little walking room on each side-had to walk in grass). We camped at Oak Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandpiper RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is w/in walking distance of beach. Nice sites w/patio & table. It was too windy during our stay (40 mph gusts) for much time outside. Note for mobility issues: office & bathrooms/showers are up a flight of stairs or many yards uphill around to the street. We did use the clubhouse for card games & it was very nice. We would stay here again. Great location in Galveston. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Airport Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful corps of engineers park. Sites are widely spaced. We had beautiful views. Sites were level and long enough for the fifth wheel, truck and a visitor's car. The far loop, sites 67-81 were the most scenic. We added this one to our favorites. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite parks. We stayed over Memorial Day Holiday for 3 nights in the "adults only" section. Even though it's very close to the highway, we didn't hear much if any road noise. The price is a little higher than most, but for level concrete sites, not too close to each other, wide "streets", great pools, and buddy sites are worth it. We've already made reservations for Labor Day. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
