Fiesta Key RV Resort, Long Key, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

We stay for two months in the winter, so we might have a different point of view from someone coming down for the first time. Yes the sites are very close to gether, but we don't come to Florida in the winter time for the size of the site. The weather is wonderful, the food is out of this world. And the vast majority of the people that work in Fiesta Key are very very nice. The people that you meet (Your neighbors) are also terrific. So, when you add up the beautiful weather, the terrific people and the incredible food. That's why we like Fiesta Key so much. Plus.... Location, location, location! We camped at Fiesta Key RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Blackhawk Valley Campground, Rockford, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in a pull-through site with a 45ft motor home and tow vehicle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I paid an additional $5.00 per night to use my second air-conditioner. I would prefer to have the additional electric cost built-in to the 50 amp electrical charge instead of paying an fee per air-conditioner. Washer dryer usage in my coach was prohibited. Not quite sure why. Campground was easy to navigate. Motorcycles are not permitted in the campground, but there is a protected area to park. I enjoyed my stay and will return next year. We camped at Blackhawk Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Spring Gulch Resort Campground, New Holland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at Spring Gulch with friends every year for a long weekend. The sites are classified as "Elite" although I can't imagine why, they are just gravel covered sites with an unremarkable picnic table. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The heavy tree cover helps keep the area cool, but prevents satellite TV reception. We always bring the golf cart, because it's long, long distance to the office. The campground is convenient to all the local tourist attractions. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Drummer Boy Campground before, the staff is friendly and helpful and it is still a great place to stay while visiting Gettysburg Battlefield. The campground is easily accessible off of a major highway, however, some sites near the office are close to this highway and the road noise is obvious. The campground became part of a national chain of resorts a few years ago and it shows; I now have a feeling that I am being shaken down for every last dime. The pull through site was accessible without disconnecting the toad; clean and fairly private with well placed trees. We did not use the bathhouse or laundry. The campground has many things for children to do and would be a nice destination for a family. One negative point are the dusty roads and the many golf carts driven by the staff at high speeds. I will stay here again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Indian Springs Campground, North Bend, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with friendly attentive staff. Large sites with easy in and out. I stay here for 4 days every year while attending a conference in Cincinnati, a 20 to 30 minute drive away. My site is located approximately 15 feet away from a pretty lake stocked with fish. (Not that I have a chance to fish...). Some day I hope to be able to stay longer and catch a few of the fish! I would stay here again. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is clean, sites are paved and level. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Only 15 minute walk to French Quarter. In my opinion, the only reason to stay in this park is to be able to walk to the French Quarter. The area around the park is considered, by the staff, to be safe during the day and not at night. I would agree. Traffic noise from I-10 is intrusive; however, the sirens from ambulances are, quite frankly, ridiculous. It never ends, 24 hours a day. My coach is well insulated and minimized the noise in the bedroom. With the air conditioners running I was able to sleep; my wife had difficulty. I would not stay here again. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I stay in Meaher State Park every year for a few days while I visit family in Mobile. I believe the park improves yearly. The park is spotless, the staff helpful and friendly. The site was paved, level and quite roomy. Lots of walking room for the dogs (and me). A boat launching area, Alligators from time to time and more restaurants than humanly possible to visit. The list goes on and on. If I have one very small issue (and I mean small) it is that this year my DirecTV was blocked by trees. If I were to have requested a water front site this would not have been an issue. I will stay at Meaher State Park next year too! We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Miami Everglades Resort, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Miami Everglades is my favorite stop on the way to Key West. The campground is spotless and the staff if very friendly. The sites are well situated and convenient to the store, swimming pool and the clubhouse for the nightly “cocktail time”. The park is very dog friendly with a long walking trail. We needed to unhook the toad because the pull through spots are not long enough for the coach and toad, however, this was not an inconvenience as we always enjoy visiting the terrific fruit stands and restaurants in the area. The address for Miami Everglades really should be Homestead FL. Upon leaving the park you find yourself on the Overseas Highway within 30 minutes. We will stay at Miami Everglades again. We camped at Miami Everglades Resort in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

Holy cow, Blue Water Key is the premiere RV resort in the USA, maybe Canada too. We stayed in Blue Water Key for the third time, and it keeps getting better every year. We prefer site 16. On the canal, very private with its own Tiki Hut. One forgets anyone else is in the resort. The staff is the sort one would find in any five star hotel; attentive but not intrusive. The location is close to town, but not too closes. I cannot give Blue Water Key enough “kudos’s”. A rating of 10 points does not do it justice. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gulf Air RV Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in a 50ft motor coach; had an exciting time “stuffing” the coach in a spot slightly larger than the vehicle. Needed to park the pickup truck in a neighbor’s spot. Having said that, I believe the group of people in the “resort” are the friendliest I have ever come across….. No kidding! I wish I had more time to spend. We used the resort as an overnight stop on the way to Key West. Next year we will try to schedule an extra day. I would have given the resort a “10” but for the small sites. We camped at Gulf Air RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wildwood KOA, Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this campground in a 45ft Coach with a pickup truck towed behind; overall length 72ft. We were able to use a pull through spot. That is about all of the positive comments: The Park is rundown and dirty, next to a truck stop. We could see the trucks and hear them running all night. In fact a smell of urine wafted over the fence separating the campground from the truck stop. Perhaps the most disturbing thing about the park is not the material in the sand, (Florida, remember) that stained our dog’s feet, requiring washing with dishwashing liquid to remove, but the ants…. Everywhere, mounds and mounds of ants… Before I could spray around my electric cord and tires they were in the coach. I spent the next two days tracking them down and spraying them. While the location is great if one is traveling from the Mobile AL area to Key West, the park is unsuitable for us. We will not be staying in the Wildwood KOA again. We camped at Wildwood KOA in a Motorhome.

Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA, Natural Bridge, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is my favorite campground on I-81. Our Coach is 50 ft, plus our toad makes us 75 ft long. We are always directed and escorted to a pull through site. The staff could not be more helpful. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older KOA. Could not open our slide outs (3). Tight turns into the campground. Staff was very friendly and kindly gave us a refund and directed us to Fort Stillwell. Would be nice campground for smaller RVs. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Motorhome.
