Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort , Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park right on Emerald Isle beach. We stayed in the red section, sites were mostly grass and OK in size, did not feel like we were on top of our neighbors. The bathhouses were very clean all of the time. The park is kept clean throughout the day and the owner takes very good care of the facilities. Really like how outdoor showers were provided on the way back from the beach. The only negatives I have are the $5 daily pet fee, the $5 daily cable fee and that the bathhouses required a physical key for entrance, and the key required a $5 deposit. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach is definitely worth a trip. The visit is free(there is a donation box) and full of US history. Be sure to learn how the bread was made at the fort.

Persimmon Creek Campground, Murphy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a couple of nights while rafting on the Ocoee. This is a small quaint campground. The sites are of good size and are all back in. There is a small bathhouse with 2 private shower rooms, which is probably enough for the size of the campground. The owners, are very friendly and maintain the campground very well. If we are in this area again, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Persimmon Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Twin Creek RV Resort, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park, it is well maintained and the bathrooms are kept very clean. The grounds are immaculate and the bathhouse is very modern. The sites are a bit on the small side, but not uncomfortable. Each site is paved along with a cement patio. If you are in a popup or hybrid, I would recommend staying towards the back of the park as there is a bit of road noise from the main road. If we come back to Gatlinburg, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Twin Creek RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Lookout Mtn. / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay. This campground is a few minutes off of I59 but still very convenient to Chattanooga. The owners take a lot of pride as it is clean and the well taken care of. The bath houses are very clean but could use some modernization. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Lookout Mtn. / Chattanooga West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tanglewood Park Campground, Clemmons, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground within Tanglewood Park, very clean and the sites are nicely spaced. The 3 negatives of the campground are unlevel sites, a dated bath house and weak wireless. We really enjoyed the mountain bike trails and I also took my daughter to the Par 3 course inside the park, which is perfect for beginners(no sand and all holes are less than 90 yards long). I have already made reservations for later this year. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very good park on the beach, sites are of good size, wifi was fast(may be due to campground being less than half full) and had no utility problems. The main negative for this park is the bathrooms. They are clean, but they are very old and should be torn down and rebuilt. I would recommend expanding them also if possible as I could see them being crowded during the summer season. The looks of the camp store and arcade could also use some updating. They have a great pirate themed mini water park for the youngsters. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA, Fancy Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park, some of the best and cleanest restrooms we have encountered at an RV park. The park is less than a 1/4 of a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, if you are in the area, I highly recommend you stay here. We camped at Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed her for several days while visiting Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. This is a very nice park, sites are well spaced and the grounds are well maintained. The bathrooms are kept clean and there are plenty of activities for the kids. Most of the activities are free, which is very nice. About the only negative I can say about the park is that for the size of the park, I think they need another bathroom facility, more than once we had to wait for a shower or a toilet. One upgrade that would be nice would be paved sites, the rocks they use in the park are rather large and difficult to walk on barefooted. This campground is only about 10 minutes away from Niagara Falls, so if you are planning a visit, I would highly recommend this one. We camped at Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Oak Hollow Family Campground, High Point, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a simple and basic nice campground that is owned and operated by the city of High Point. They do not take reservations, this is a first come first serve campground. Some of the sites are unlevel and could take some extra blocks. We stayed in the C loop and had a nice view of the lake. The restrooms were clean but they are dated and could use some updating. Like others have said, bring extra water hose and a Y spigot fitting as you will share water with your neighbor. I highly recommend it. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will come back again. We camped at Oak Hollow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground overall. First the positives. Most sites are right on a creek and shaded. The creek is refreshing to swim in or fun for a short tube ride. The owners are very polite and helpful. The bath house is kept clean. Now for the negatives. Some of the sites are little on the narrow side and not all of them have cable. The bath house is very old and the stalls and showers are very small. I plan on visiting this campground again. We camped at Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang in a Tent Trailer.

Rifrafters Campground, Fayetteville, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a simple but nice little campground. If you need a place to stay while you visit the New River Gorge park, this is it. There is not a lot to do at the campground. There is no playground, pool, or any other activities. This park does have clean tiled bathrooms and is far enough from the highway(19) that you can sleep peacefully. If we come back to this area we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hagan-Stone City Park, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice simple campground. Bathrooms are dated but kept clean. Only negative I have for this campground is that there are no sewer connections, but there are 2 dump stations onsite. Lots of hiking trails to check out and just a good place to getaway from everything and enjoy nature. We camped at Hagan-Stone City Park in a Travel Trailer.
