Dubois Wind River KOA, Dubois, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here last night on our way to see Jackson, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone from Iowa. We checked in and the hostess welcomed us in. We got settled in then walked around the campground where you'll quickly see the beautiful Wind River, their horses. There are plenty of full hookup pull through sites, not to mention their 4 kamping kabins, 2 bunkhouses, and plenty of tent sites. They also have a large indoor heated pool, game room, and an outside pavilion where they host western shows twice a week. The kabins were very clean and well kept, and it was nice to see the two granola bars and two bottles of water when we walked in. Overall, this would be a great place to home base out of for the neighboring parks. Plus, with the western shows, there are free horseback rides for kids under 10. With the other family events they do throughout the week, you'll really experience the western feel. Overall, we'd highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay. We camped at Dubois Wind River KOA in a Campground Cabin.

Mount Rushmore KOA, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on our way out west from iowa and thought it was amazing. Our kamping kabin was close to the bathrooms, pool, water park, jumping pillow, and a nice stream. This place was truly amazing and somewhere you could easy spend a week at, whether it was renting an atv to ride trails, go horseback riding in the beautiful black hills, or enjoy many of their restaurants or $2.50 all you can eat pancake breakfast. This park is the nicest one I've ever been to. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA in a Campground Cabin.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground for one night on our way out west from Iowa. We arrived late, but called ahead and the host waited for us to arrive, which was very nice. The kamping kabin was clean and not too far from the bathrooms. the bathrooms were clean, as well. We did drive through the the rest of the campground the next day, and they have great shade trees and grass with nice full hookup pull-through sites. Overall, we'd recommend the Mitchell KOA to anyone looking for a peaceful night's rest off the major highway yet only minutes from town and the famous Corn Palace. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Campground Cabin.
