Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here numerous times over the past 4 years; generally in the spring and rated a 9. Trip this time is for a pre-thanksgiving visit with family. This trip, the park has changed dramatically! Many very, very old RV's; some "home-made" rv's; multiple tents/occupants in several sites; some campers storing belongings around/under rv's as if "permanent"; 4 sites had laundry hanging outside; unattended dogs outside in pens at 3 sites; observed multiple dog "poops" with "no-scoop". Did not see any SP patrols as previously. Common areas not maintained as before. Maybe it's the "Fall" season changeover waiting on "Spring"; I don't know, but it's sad. Don't know if would stay here again, but there's not many other choices for campgrounds in the area. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

NO "WIRELESS INTERNET"/WiFi. It is shown in their printed brochure AND online website that WiFi is a provided amenity. Don't know why the still advertise WiFi. Front desk said they haven't had it for sometime.
We use a hotspot, but for those who need WiFi, just be aware.

Other than no WiFi, we rate park an 8. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pegasus Farm Campground, Elkins, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Our first thoughts were "Uh Oh! What?" Why did we rely on the overall "excellent" rating?

The drive from the road to the campground area was down a narrow, low tree canopied and muddy road, passing only feet between a house with parked cars and a cemetery. It was doable, but we were concerned about scratching the sides of the RV with the tree branches, or perhaps getting stuck upon leaving. The site in the field to which we were assigned was not level and also very muddy from recent rains. It was also unkempt. There were a couple of very old bus rentals (their cabins) that detracted from the general look of the campground area. The pictures designating the bathrooms were a Neanderthal for Men and a skimpy-clothed Raquel Welch for Women. My wife said that it all felt "creepy." Wi-Fi was good. IMHO it was overpriced at $45.oo.

We will not return. We camped at Pegasus Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Destiny Dallas RV Resort, Denton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Facility (7). Overall convenience to Denton and Dallas area is great. Highway noise a little loud but not under management’s control. Many, many “permies”/long termers; a “bit” junky looking at these sites. Nice dog park. Be careful if you request a specific site and pay it forward; it may not happen. Destiny’s name should be “Park or campground”; not “Resort”. $2.50 daily fee for electricity in addition to daily rate. Laundry (10). New equipment. Very, very clean. One of the best we’ve seen. Sites (4). Our site was a little un-level. Site was not clean when we arrived. Site had many weeds, fallen twigs and branches from trees. BBQ grill provided at the site had cigarette butts, cigar stubs, ashes and used plastic baggies in it; appeared not to have been cleaned in many weeks, if not months. Very nasty! It seems management could have their maintenance crew “police” each site for litter and cleanliness after campers vacate and not have to be asked to do so. Adding gravel and raking gravel at site would also help with appearance and possibly leveling. Doing these small items should not be a big deal or costly event and really upgrade parks appearance. Hooks up/Internet (10). Great! Overall Rating (7) We camped at Destiny Dallas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Views = 9, Facility = 5, Laundry = 3. Good views of the mountains around Santa Fe. Large, level sites with concrete patio and table. Grounds are not maintained. Policy says leashes Not required but dogs need to be under full control of the dog’s owner; however, we saw dogs running loose in the park. Dog poop had not been picked up on the grounds. Nice dog park available; however, dog poop receptacles were full and looked like they had not been emptied for a while. Laundry had clothes left in washers from prior users; washers were dirty; two were inoperable with NO notice posted. Two dryers were inoperable with notices posted. One dryer said not to use unless you had clothes. That didn’t matter because of ink in dryer. This could be a very nice park if only the owner would tend to daily and routine maintenance and enforce their policies. Don’t know whether park cash flow is insufficient, or what, but there are definitely issues that needs to be corrected. Probably would not stay here again. OVERALL: 5 rating We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nugget RV Park, St. Regis, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

WOW...this park is incredible. Meticulous landscaping, large spacious sites, immaculate bathrooms, huge dog park, and beauty abound. The owners are extremely courteous and helpful, willing to spend time talking to their campers and share ideas of places to visit in the area. We full time RV and it is difficult to find a park that has it all...but this is it. Kick back and relax here...you won't regret it. We camped at Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wine Country RV Resort, Paso Robles, California

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Facilities are new, clean. Staff is awesome and helpful. Loved the wine tour. Visited three wineries and had a small snack set up overlooking a beautiful valley. Level sites. Immaculate landscaping. Absolutely amazing experience. We are full-timers now and must say, that of all the parks in which we have been, this is by far our favorite. We camped at Wine Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.
